Brokers are able to locate specific cars if your dealer cant/won’t. You do usually save money. Brokers generally deal directly with fleet salesman at dealerships and are able to rates/programs which general salesman’s aren’t aware of. For my M, I was told by three different dealerships they couldn’t find the color and interior combination I wanted. My broker found it, secured it, and had it delivered to me with a salesman from Bmw go over the car. I also purchased Tire and wheel insurance directly through my broker which was half the price of Bmw. If you’re thinking about using one, you still need to visit the dealership to look at a few vehicles and figure out where you need to be pricewise. Then I usually turn the reins over to the broker and have him do the rest.

It has an Eco (4 cylinder) mode!

Is there a catch with using a broker? Sounds like a convenient service, why don't more people use them?

I agree 100% on the teenage boys. I was pulling out of work when I had mine and a car full of teenagers were looking at my car and plowed right in the back of a slower car in front of them. Felt terrible for them but they acted like the just saw Jesus Christ in person.

Well my lease is up next month and I have a 2018 911 on order for a May delivery date.I will miss my m4 its been an awesome car and I will definitely
miss my MT as my 911 will have a PDK.

Yes. There’s always a catch. If you prefer to be hassled at the dealship, waste your time with ignorant salesman, and want to be treated like another number, the broker isn’t for you. Contact my guy if you’re interested. Joe at AMG lease, search Instagram or google.

I mean look at the new ZR1, nothing groundbreaking about. Just a souped up Z06 with more aero and better cooling so shouldn't overheat like the Z06.

I would love an RS3 (maybe for all kinds of driving) but it would be especially nice to have one in the winter months.

Not to derail the thread - but what does a broker do in a car lease circumstance? Just handle the overall paperwork/transaction aspect of the deal? Or can you get a better payment by going through one?

I looked at their website for a couple of minutes and it wasn't immediately clear to me.

Presumably they work with a network of dealers to find you the best deal on the car you want. Some people swear by them. I have always thought of them as a middle man that needs to also make money.

Considering the amount of time it takes to find a car then haggle with the dealer, $500 seems like a reasonable amount to spend. If that is indeed all they charge.

Yes, if they are actually getting you pricing equal to or better than what you would get on your own. But there is no way to really know that unless you invest the time researching and haggling yourself. I have no way of knowing what arrangements a broker may have with dealers.

Hence why you price check at the dealer and then enlist the help of a broker to get you a better deal. My broker explained to me his money is made from the dealership, the same way a salesmen would make his commission. Most brokers have preferred dealers with their “go-to” guys on the inside. Mine was an Audi salesman for 8 years prior to venturing off on his own. He kept his network and it has only grown since then. It’s like doing your taxes or buying a house, sure you can do it on your own, but realtors and CPAs make the process much easier and usually can save you money.

There is no realistic way to simply check pricing at a dealer without negotiating. No dealer gives you the best price when you ask “how much”. More likely than not, you only know the real price you can get by checking and negotiating with multiple dealers. So if you use a broker, you either need to trust them implicitly or do so much work that you may as well negotiate yourself. Glad it works for you but I just haven’t come across anyone that I would consider trusting like that. Maybe if I had a close friend or relative doing it, but personally it would be difficult for me to get comfortable with a former car salesman who left a dealership to go out on his own to sell cars. I do know people who use them and like them.

I also don’t think very highly of realtors so I guess it’s just me.

Right - that's what I would have thought as well...so in order for that middle man to make a decent cut, the "deals" would have to be pretty good overall.

I actually enjoy the haggling process - it can be fun.

The 911 GTS is a wonderful car - congratulations! Just curious, why did you not order a MT? I will probably end up with a Porsche at some point simply because they (hopefully) will continue to offer MTs.
