Installed a set and there was a misfire after driving for a while. Cyl4 misfire (140410) and Misfire on several cylinders detected (140010) codes. Originally ModBargins website said ZRM5TPP330 were ordered, so we thought they sent the wrong plug since the part number was not the same as what was ordered. Put the originals with 59k back in and so far it's been fine. MB doesn't want to take the plugs back saying it is the correct part. I didn't notice any cracks on the plug, and they weren't dropped to my knowledge. Perhaps it was a bad plug. But then I would need to install them again, find the misfire again, read the code, swap to another cyl to confirm the misfire moves with the bad plug.

On the other hand there is lots of conflicting information that suggests: ZR5TPP330 has a 0.6mm and 0.8mm electrode diameter. Bosch data says it has a 0.6mm electrode diameter so let's hope that's at least correct. I'm wondering if the conflicting info is confusion with the plug default gap which is also 0.8mm. Is anyone able to measured the centre electrode diameter on the ZMR5TPP330 and ZR5TPP330, so we can put this to bed? Do you measure the tip of the centre electrode, or the bottom thicker part of the centre electrode, I'm assuming tip? Last edited by Uksa007; 07-20-2021 at 10:28 PM.. |

Apparently my spark plugs (ZR5TPP330) were gapped at 0.7mm (although the box said 0.8mm). Hope this helps. |

I'm currently installing plugs in my f82. Using Bosch zr5tpp330. I just measured the electrodes and they're both .8mm The thing that was different was on the new Bosch branded plugs the gap measured .032-.035 out of the box. My "worn" factory plugs measured .028-.03 The M in the part number is most likely the manufacturer specific version internal to Bosch, which may include a smaller gap as they're supposed to come pre-gapped. I'm just gapping the bosh branded ones to .028 and tossing them in. We'll see what happens |
