Buying used CCB’s (pics inside)

Hello guys, I’d appreciate some quick help and advice on some CCB’s that I’m buying tomorrow. They appear to have seen very little use, due to only being fitted brand new last October, and have done 1 track day and 1-2k road miles.

I’ve had ceramics before on an M4CS and did 10k miles with them and can’t remember seeing the lines (almost like scoring) that are in some of these pics I was sent.
I haven’t got accurate weights but they can’t be too worn on just one track day surely.

I’ll attach the pics I was sent. Any advice appreciated

That rotor looks fucked.

The bmw ccb has three wear indicators. You should use those to estimate the condition.

That is a rear.. I’ll upload some of a front that I’ve been sent.. it looks fairly decent.

I’m meeting him tomorrow to see and hopefully buy them… so I need to be sure.

Look at the manual and what it says about the wear indicators

I’ve seen the before and after pictures and I don’t think this disc is at either end to be honest.

It’s a gamble by the sounds of it. I’ll never track my car but the worry is still there.

If you are never going to track it, the discs on the pics will last you a lifetime.

Garage List
That one rotor looks like a wrong pad was used and it abraded the rotor! I'd personally stay clear, but it seems you're set on the purchase.

Will you be buying the master cylinder as well when doing the purchase? That is also needed.

(brake booster, not master cylinder), most just code it. I believe the booster isn't needed anymore.

Well I went to see them and went for it. To be honest I think they’ll be absolutely fine, they’ve done less than 2k miles. Full complete kit including booster, backing plates, even the invoice for September 2022.

Wish me luck!!!

The pads leave marks on the discs when hard driving, after cooling and driving a few km they disappear.

No need to change the brake booster.

That’s reassuring! I’d have thought it would have been the fronts that did it not the rears. Although he did say he had the TCS on when he did the track time.
