You must own an older M3... yep you do. I've seen a normal 4 series on the road a few times and these cars have some road presence due to how wide they are. The M4 is lower and wider than the normal 4 series, which will definitely give some crazy presence in person. I can't wait to see M4.

Not feeling it at all. But my biggest grip about the new M3/M4 is the way the new I6 TT sounds. Absolutely atrocious:
It sounds just like the new 4-cyl A45 AMG. |

Looks like too much of a fastback, which I don't like.
Very underwhelming design overall.

I think majority of us agree so far that the 4 door looks better then this.

I agree. Press photo's have done a great job of taking pics of this car in the most ideal angles and views, however in real life that can't be changed. The front end is far too busy with all the vents, the predator looking mouth and bumper and then very rounded off fender flaring and shoulder lines. Everything on the front end is very sharp and "cut" while everything else is bulbous. It doesn't also help it's overall look that the back of the car (rear 1/3rd) is so much taller than the sandwiched front.

No nav in this car, just the standard iDrive system. Which means you get that basic/old-looking controller. Which is different from the pre-touch controller for F30 Nav cars. Some NBT F30s have the older non-touch controllers. Again, totally different from what you see in these pics.

I can honestly say that I don't much like the F30 and F32. They are very bland and boring IMO. Walking on a dealers lot they are invisible unless they are painted in a very bold color like Estoril. An E9X M3 immediately catches your eye on the lots independent of color. I was at the dealer last week and of all cars there the one that looked the best was a new E93 M3 in Le Mans blue over black leather with the top down.
The F82 does not look good in pictures. It looks like an over styled F32. Usually the M models looks like the ultimate expression of the body style and what it was designed for and the rest of the models look like they are missing styling cues that completes the car. Not so this time. I still think the car will look a lot better in real life and in the best color for it. So far though I see no reason to sacrifice two doors for the beauty of a coupe. The M3 photographs better. I do like the rear fenders of the F32 though. Last edited by solstice; 12-23-2013 at 03:13 PM.. |

WOW, ive been a critic ever since I found out they were going to a turbo engine but this car has absolutely ZERO presence. It does not stand out at all and I wouldnt look twice at it if I was driving or walking past it.

I do agree that these are not the best pictures BUT in this color especially, the lines are just not there, seems like a continuous chunk of metal. The hood vents are DEFINITELY needed in this design to break-up the large hood

I would think people who own M3's and see them everyday would be in a better position to judge the M3/4 than someone who doesnt own or drive one. This car doesnt give many of us the same feeling we have when we look at and drive our "older" M3's. |

BMW releasing too many models and making only an average job of each one. M3/ M4, X5, good but nothing outstanding. Not sure where they are going on design language looking at 2 Active Tourer, i3 ! Although i8 shows what they can do
The. M3/4 just looks a bit of a botch job |
