6mt m4 gear indicator

Hey I could use a lil help from my friends.
I just got my car back from service - the rear view camera wasn't coming on. Anywho now it has the gear indicator on bottom part of the tach.
I asked the service people why it's now there, as it wasn't before, but they couldn't help, and I have to call a "genius" tomorrow.
I did search before posting but I didn't come up w anything.
I know it's not a big deal but it's annoying and I liked it before when it wasn't there.
Any ideas how to turn it off??

I think that the same sensor for backup seems to manage rev matching and the dash display readout. Not sure you can turn off the display in the dash but would be cool to learn that there is more customization there.

You can turn it off in the idrive under settings for instrument cluster.

Offtopic but somewhat related- Does the 6mt have shift lights on the top of the tach?

I looked under instrument cluster and it shows
Digital speedometer
navigation
Range
distance to destination
arrival time
average consumption
average speed

Not sure it can be turned off. Mine has always been on. You can also display it the HU display in MDM mode. I kind of like it. I don't care for the Efficient Dynamics prompt that is always suggesting what gear I can shift up to for improved mileage.

Oh!!!! This happened to me day 1 when I picked up the car. Have them check your gear lever sensor. That was my problem. When they fixed that.. Rev match worked, back up cam, side mirror tilt, everything lol.

Just don't go in there and talk about rev matching because the techs have no clue what that feature is apparently..

I didn't even know there was a gear indicator until that got fixed.

Bdooh - yeah it seems that they adjusted the 'gear lever sensor' and now my car is acting completely different. I guess the good news is it fixed the reverse cam...but now I have this odd event where I am shifting UP in the gears and the RPMs aren't dropping as fast as they should be, when I clutch in...almost like its trying to rev match on the UP shift...its annoying enough when its rev matching on the down shift.
Anyone else experience it? Its not holding revs when I am in neutral or at the start just when I am going up thru the gears..almost feels like a SHIFT O MATIC

Normal. Put it in sport+ and you'll notice the revs dropping rather quickly.

It wants you to shift at about 1,700RPM, which sounds crazy, but I guess due to the power, it pulls really well using those shift points
