Bmw M4 carbon roof clear coat

I've got a 2015 BMW M4 carbon roof starting to flake the clear on the edge closest to the windshield, looking for some insight on what to do, I want to get it fixed right, I am in Tennessee, I know a place that does it for $1k out in California, but looking for something closer willing to drive to florida if I have too, I have contacted G3carbon and no response from them. But car has always been kept in garage and don't know why it has started to flake, I do drive it in rain and winters but still always garaged every night.

The reason for the flaking is probably small stone chips. There is a lot of debrees hitting the edge of the roof. That's why i always apply PPF on my cars. You can fix the roof, then apply a piece of 20 cm wide PPF on the front part of your roof and fold it down inside the rubber seal.

Is PPF on the roof really necessary on the F82’s? Is the carbon fiber roof less durable than the rest of the car? If you don’t live in an area where things falling from the sky are an issue should this really be necessary?? I PPF’ed my front bumper, full hood, and fenders, but the thought never really crossed my mind to do the roof.

It isn't things falling from the sky, it's rock chips from driving that start to peel. Yes, get it ppf'd.

Get ppf, the gel coat factory is not good overtime with age it gets weak which means If you get a rock chip it will start to peel and that’s what has happened. Mine is a 2015 early 2014 delivery always garage kept
