I never thought these cars really needed that detail. Perhaps over-engineering. I'd rather have embroidered if anything.

I would start new threads but I have nothing to complain about, which is all that people post on here anymore. Trivial complaints about 1st World Problems from people who think they bought a Bugatti and just need to come back down to Earth a little more.

For the people who think "it's too soon" for it to not look like new, at what point would it be fine for it to start showing wear? When do we stop bothering dealers for items that are showing wear and tear?

15 years/ 5 000 miles. Seems about the right ratio.

Sure, the op's logos don't look good. You and I wouldn't notice and if we did we would replace them if needed.

I respect the guys who want to keep theirs in pristine condition but I'd go nuts if I tried to copy them.

Let's live a little guys and get those logos shining again. you can have mine, mirrors in the sun visors too. I'm happy with less.

Very astute observation.

I though our windows block all UV, no?

Bring it back to the dealership to replace. I'd be surprise if they didn't do so.

Some might call this nit-picky -- Me? I call this keeping an $80K+ car looking good...

Good Luck with this.
Dealer said this was wear/tear. To be honest, not sure I want them to pull apart my seat to replace this thing.

For the record, I didn't start this thread to complain. More to be informative and keep myself informed. Isn't that what forums are about?

Maybe you should just stick to YouTube videos...just saying.

What. In. The. Name. Of. Actual. F--k.

Lemon it.

Safety issue.

Design flaw.

C'mon BMW!

(My car has nicks, a little rock mark in the windshield, and many things I haven't noticed. It will have more love done to it before I am thru. I will pay and get it detailed but before i give her up years from now I am going to drive and enjoy the hell out of it, even if she starts to show the wear after a while. To me, it's a car, not a museum piece. I sympathize with OP's feeling of pain but don't share it and don't intend to......till next time kids, keep your stick on the ice and your head up )

Just to add...I do not have aftermarket tint on my windows...so whatever natural tint the windows have may provide some uv protection, though I will need to investigate that detail.

Well, to be honest, that kinda is. But because of that thread I now know we have those! Never had I spotted one in any car I've ever had.

Thanks for the info, if people find it nit picky or wasted time, they can click away. I don't get message boards sometime, we are all here to bounce ideas off of each other and provide insight for other "car" nuts.

Should have bought a 2015 M4 and then a new one in 2017. Why wait?

Not sure if serious. I'm hoping not...

I don't see the link between track testing and a purely cosmetic flaw like what's in this thread.

but who knows, maybe the ZCP will indeed have a track tested clear coat on the seat logos. :/

When

A - they give me free cars
B - BMW stop including "everything except brakes and tires"

OP, you have every right to want your car to look its best. First world problems, sure.... but problems none the less.
