I remember a lot of talk on here two years ago or so about how Tim Ryan was the worst speaker of the house ever. The following article jolted my memory, and I was thinking "be careful what you wish for".
Tim Ryan is gone, and the crazies have taken over. And Kevin McCarthy? He's ok with Fascists. At least they're not Democrats. Greene heckles Democrats and they fire back on Capitol steps - https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5...-capitol-steps |

Ok so, here's what's up:
(1.) These convicts dressed like jailbirds are still on the run (2.) Why is a bunch of murders a "spree" but a bunch of donuts is a "binge"? (3.) This fukin guy again |

minn19 Those new engine failures, apparently related to the oil pumps are now concerning me.

Yup, but from what I’ve heard they are covering owners payments for the length of time the cars are out of service and giving extended warranties on the replacement engines. That coupled with being able to drive a Porsche loaner for however long the car is out of service makes me not worried about it.

Uhh yeah I am kind of ditching BMW for the time being. 718 (982) GT4 is going to be it for me.

GrussGott, it unnaturally bothers/freaks me out that you are getting an SUV. I don’t know why. Feels like giving up and only wearing sweatpants and a stained white t-shirt every day. Or we truly aren’t kids anymore type of thing. I know it’s an M etc and it defies physics for what 2.5 ton vehicle. Still……..

Too bad you can't get the AMG GLE with the V8 atm. Those cars sound great.

ah man, that made my day! My wife and I laughed about that for like 10 minutes, thanks so much for that! I probably do owe you guys an explanation, or at least a more detailed one, and it's the reason why I didn't see this until now! The thing is, we're kinda nomading vanlifers now - I"m writing this from deep inside a NorCal redwood forest and we've been on the road for awhile now and probably won't be back to the bay area for a month or so, and SoCal for longer. We have stuff now like a dometic powered cooler, and goal zero batteries, a Garmin Insight device, and an iridium phone. We travel around with all of our own appliances and/or buy what we need on the road. In a week or so we're going to try to cross the Poutine Border and, if we can make it across (it's an ordeal), then in January we'll "move" to Victoria, BC, at least for awhile (we can stay 6 months max, though they can extend your stay but there are no rules). After that, we may head for the EU or SEA or It's all kinda open ended. Anyway, it's less giving up and more that we can't drive 1000s of miles in a sports car! At least not without a support van ... So that's what the X5M is for - like super long 5-8hr/day road trips for the foreseeable future and then maybe storage or sale if we leave the continent ... I'd have loved to to have gotten a Porsche 911 - and we were planning doing an ED and then driving around Scandinavia but (a.) the porsche ED rules make that a bit of an iffy thing, and (b.) it was too risky with covid. And, TBH, the braun shaver is a deal killer too. So, anyway, the X5M is plan b for the next year and in case we can't (or don't want to leave the continent) |

it's not that bad for me yet - I still want to hoon in a Porsche on the autobahn & some euro tracks (and passes), but I have grown out of wanting a car for jewelry - I still appreciate that, but I don't want/need it for me.
For all -- Also, I know I'm a broken record on this, and preach preach blah blah blah but I worked in healthcare for a lot of years pouring over data so trust me on this: (1.) If you're 45 or older and haven't gotten a colonoscopy you seriously need to do it. (2.) Heart stuff - it's a fucking travesty. a - there's a ZILLION things you can have, it's not just fat bob b - nobody will tell you shit until you've had a heart attack AND SURVIVED (and those odds are iffy) The thing is, there are more/less zero symptoms to anything heart related until you drop. So here's what you need to do if YOU'RE 50 or about to be ... DO NOT WAIT. (1.) Next blood test, get an APO(b), LP(a), & HS-CRP, if any of those are off PM me (2.) Get a CAC scan, i.e., a calcium score. if you're a zero, great! if you're not zero PM me. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: On this heart stuff you CANNOT TRUST YOUR DOCTORS OR INSURANCE and you should not trust them. Get the tests I said, and pay out of your own pocket if you have to. They're super easy to do, super fast, and relatively cheap. if they're not normal and/or cac isn't zero, don't listen to your docs, PM me.
