Help Suspension clicking and popping noise - Video Incl

Hi guys

I have had this annoying noise for a while now.

Car is lowered.

I had the pinch bolt changed when I had both wishbones replaced. The noise disappeared for a while but now the noise returned and sounds worse than before.

Help!

Thanks

Did you try retorquing the pinch bolt? That has been my culprit and tighten it every so often.

What are you lowered on?
Does noise happen mainly when turning wheel side to side, or is it when suspension traveling up and down?

Have you checked spring tension against spring pads and upper mounts? Have you removed the entire assembly and check for cracks/wear

Are you sure it’s your suspension?
In the last vid toward the end, you appear to be mainly static but you can hear clicking which is odd because you’re not really moving.

Almost sounds like driveshaft lash

Sounds like the pinch bolt is not torqued properly.

Pinch bolts should not become loose when torqued. Not sure if these are TTY bolts but something is wrong if pinch bolts are backing out.

Make sure the bolt is torqued dry and not lubricated as well.

Well I had the clicking problem before I had my wishbones changed but that was only when stationary. I bought new pinch bolts and had them fitted when I changed the wishbones.

Was perfect and now I got this. I will give the pinch bolts another retorque. Hopefully cures it.

If the pinch bolt doesn't solve it , I think this would be the next step.

I am lowered on Intrax springs

I would follow the above and check the mounts. And definitely check for worn parts or cracks..

There’s a huge thread that was started by Racer20 about a similar issue you should check out https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1637057 ... I’ve never had the problem on my car(s) but they tried everything and IIRC the final verdict was that you need to tighten the steering rack bolt a few clicks or just enough to make the noise stop, too tight and your steering effort will increase in all modes, anyway read it hope it helps... if that’s not it (which I think it prolly is) then the only other thing I can of is the FTAB can make clicking noises when turning while stationary and sometimes at slow speeds but it’s not usually very loud unless they’ve been replaced w/ monoball’s and the bushing is worn out (I have had this) and then the clicking and popping gets progressively louder as they eventually ruin the oem ball joint on the other end of the FTAB good luck
