gepfeffert kw v3 coilovers ...hi new member with new ride!
hi guys,
this past summer bought myself a 2017 f82 m4 cp. had a blast all summer got to maybe second base haha. i love the car, i will keep it for solid decade and have a blast modifying it. just hit 12k before i parked for winter. anyways, first mod has to be suspension. i know their is one thread on here on this topic and company gepfeffert and i have pm'ed him. anyone else out there with any experience with this brand ? so here is the deal, the kw v3 or clubsport coilovers sound ideal when it comes to performance and quality. kw v3 max lowering is 40mm, which looks pretty good on some of these cars online cranked all the way down.. but with these style coilovers are we not sacrificing performance of the suspension by limiting shock travel, i mean this is why their is a recomended height setting from the suspension companies right ? so gepfeffert kw v3 min drop is 40mm max 90mm, ninety mills is ridic i know, but the key is that if i run them say ten millimeters from the top, i will be lower than most, plus still retain full functionality of suspension as long as i dont hit the ground lol. this kit comes with 90 and 140 spring rates so very ideal for that height and road and track. they also come with linear springs and adjustable top mounts from kw. its been ten years since i gave up my last project car, right around the time i got married lol, always bought cool cars for her and shared in winter rode my mc in summer. now this is my summer toy (just turned 40 lol) anyways guys thnx for listening and sharing your thoughts, will start a proper build thread with pics right around the time parts arrive before installl during etc....thnx!! |

sweeeet! pls update me when this happens. i have been contemplating the HLS as well. i will be ordering all parts after new years ..
having previously had extremely low cars for many years i know from experience that 95% of my driving will be no problems at all hugging the ground .. i also dont mind parking far away and walking if need be.. but the HLS system sounds so enticing to the adult in me .. |

finally decided and have ordered :
kw clubsport 2way (comes with top mounts) and paid extra for edc delete from kw fall line standard toe link kit macht schnell stud convesrion kit and will add h&r spacers after suspension is installed and measurements are made for precision purposes but i wish to keep proper stagger so we will see , 10? or 12? or 15mm? all around on 666 wheels..... reason for not going with gepfeffert : i believe that the only purpose of going any lower than the standard kw coilovers can go (for this particular car and model) would be for show purposes only for like maybe the day in the parking lot at the show only. from researching many members rides and lots of private messages i have come to the conclusion that with the right spring rates i will be able to ride as low as i possibly can under normal conditions with a kw coilover kit, i have opted for the clubsport 2 way for the stiffer spring rate(100and 140)and linear springs and proper adjustable top mounts and because they will be perfect for stance and performace road and track. thnx for listening to anyone interested, but i will start a proper build thread in march when parts arrive !
