BMW Dial not working in Spotify on Apple Carplay

Anyone ever run into this issue? Ive tried disconnecting my iPhone and forgetting the device and reinstalling CarPlay but I still run into this issue. The dial works fine in Apple Music.

Anyone know any fixes?

Apple really wants us to switch to apple music I guess
