Is the exhaust/engine quieter in the 2019 M4?

Hi all. Test drove a 2019 M4 and on cold start and driving in sport mode this car seemed a lot quieter then a 2016 M4 I had. Is it me or did they start manufacturing quieter vehicles? I know the EU is implementing new laws that puts a lower decibel cap on their cars.

Should be no difference in NA vehicles unless changes in coding. You could get the same by updating the iStep in an older vehicle if there is a change.

The Euro cars are equipment with an additional filter plus different engine software.

Again, those would not make their way into NA Cars.

Maybe the 2019 exhaust hasn’t broken in yet. It took my exhaust 5k miles to open up.
