Superchips/DMS or Evolve?
Hello there, looking to get a remap and wanted to ask what the best options and opinions are?
I have used Superchips for many years and always been pleased with the results. I am not after the most power but a reliable amount (535 ish ) as I do concider the warranty side of things. Appreciate any feedback. Would have gone with ACS but the cost is simply ridiculous IMOP. Cheers J

I've used Bootmod3 from Pro Tuning Freaks myself today it took about 5 mins and I applied the GTS settings as well.
You do it via your laptop literally takes 5 mins and you can revert to stock as well. I originally had an ECU out remap from MoreBHP but it got wiped out by the dealer and I couldn't be arsed having to go back to get it physically remapped. It's got the Stage 1 98 RON map applied and I'm going to get it decatted shortly then go Stage 2

A good remap will always be the better solution for power, smoothness and drivability. Remaps all seem to be about the 520-530bhp mark compared to around 500ish with boxes.
A box works fine, and possibly better from a warranty perspective as you can remove for service work. But could be more problematic if you have a breakdown and get recovered directly to a dealer. The M4 access points for a 4 channel box are an absolute bitch to get at compared to my 330e.

I'd recommend taking a good look at BM3 before considering the other remap options (wouldn't contemplate a box on an F8X). Keeps you in full control to apply/remove/tweak/experiment. I haven't used it myself as I don't want to mess with my new car yet (though did contemplate it for sorting the cold start) but it is the way I would go. I have used DMS in the past, but I like the flexibility BM3 offers.

I have bm3 and I am in Hampshire if you need any help. I did look at DMS when I had my F10 M5 but it was silly money (if you ask me) and I like that I can tune it back to stock when ever I like. I picked up a used Licence for £250
