My last 2 "M's" were coupes, my then future wife thought my little car was "cute". To be honest I do like the 2 door just that my lifestyle fits better with the 4

What the point of this thread ? Your either making a decision off other peoples assumption or buyers regret. A choice in this scenario should be based purely on logistical and one's personal aesthetic preference.

I love how this thread turned into a "this looks better than that". The OP asked about a comparison in "driving" only, nothing more, nothing less. If you can't answer his query, move on and don't hog the thread with unrelated info.

I will eagerly disagree with you. The fender flares (especially the rear) on the M3 are just pure bliss. Flared fenders are a missing design element from most current car designs including the M4 that I personally love and look for.

Both look great, I got an M4 because my past three cars were 4 doors and I was tired of 4 doors and the M2 is hideous to me. Looks too small and cheap, the seats suck too.

F80 vs F82
It’s getting close to upgrade time and I cannot for the life of me decide between the aesthetics of the f80 and f82. I have driven and thoroughly inspected both and I am torn between the two. Any thoughts?

I did the same as you, scrutinizing both for some time, and selected the F80 as it looks more aggressive and balanced to me. Something about the F82 appears off at certain angles while the F80 looks perfectly proportioned, in my opinion.

A thread isn't likely going to help you because it's a highly subjective matter. For me - both cars look great, but I prefer the rear profile of the F80 more. More aggressive and less bulbous.

I always wanted an "m3" so f80 was my choice.
It helped that I loved the rear fender flares and the practical sedan shape |

I didn't care as much about the practicality aspect until I parked in my garage and realized it's MUCH easier to get in and out of the car with the shorter doors. M4 looks like a bar of soap IMHO. |

It really depends more if you want a coupe body style vs. a sedan. My previous M was an E60, loved it for the practicality but aside from the rear fenders I decided for F82 over F80 because sports coupe. ( And M4 has a carbon trunk lid while M3 is metal ;] )

I chose M3 because I love the shape and lines and I have a kid that I know it'll make life easier. Also, I think its more unique that the M3 is (or was when it was first released) one of the fastest saloons in that segment, whereas the M4 coupe category has a lot of competition.

Sad that it has to be modded to be recognized.

Yeah I couldn’t agree more. I just love the look of the M3, but the M4 not so much.
