Oil Catch Can Advice

I'm looking for opinions on the what the best oil catch can, S55 specific of course...probably something I should have done awhile ago.

Are all of them the same? I do read that some are pain in the ass to install/empty? Any recommendations or are they all pretty much the same?

They are all basically the same. If I am not mistaken you can install a drip hose that lets the vapors/gunk drip out below so you don't have to physically remove the can itself.
Mishimoto makes a nice can and install/removal honestly is a 10m job if that. You do have to remove the CF strut brace (which is the "hardest" part.

Thank you...I was looking at the Mishimoto kit, it does look to have more pieces than some others....but I've always had good experiences with their products.

I had a BMS can on, but swapped in the Mishimoto can a couple weekends ago (only because it looks a little cleaner and matches the Mishi TMIC installed a few months back). Both function equally and with the same method, so it comes down to your price point and aesthetics.

I definitely recommend installing a drip hose though, purely for the ease of clearing the can at routine intervals. You can route the hose to drip just in front of the right wheel well. I also spliced in a simple stopcock just a few inches below the can, which is easy to reach and open when I want to drain the can. Otherwise, the can/hose is always open and could add some stains to the garage floor.

Yeah, id have to do the same, the last thing I want is oil leaking on my garage floor.

I actually think that the BMS one is the best as its functionally the most simple one. If you read the instructions on the ones with the drip release function, you still have to uninstall it every once in awhile to clean it out.

I personally spend the extra 5 minutes to R&R the catch can for a full cleaning every 3-5k miles.

Attached is how the catch can looked after leaving it on for 10k miles.

Turner makes a nice "S55 specific" OCC kit that includes both silicone hoses (inlet/outlet) and also includes the drain hose and shutoff valve. I'm crazy OCD and it's a nice piece.

I didn't like how the other kits make you reuse the crappy looking factory PCV tube as the inlet.
