Click "View Vehicle Profile" in https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/ and you can probably see the price under "Service Information"
I believe the dealer you choose also need to list the prices |

Wtf kind of prices are these? Yes, you're being scammed. OP my 2 cents are to never go back to this dealership. Engine air filters is 30 minutes at most. You remove the cf strut that takes 15 mins if you're real careful, then unscrew the lids for the air box and swap the filters which at most is another 10 mins. The cabin filter is 2 bolts and you pull the trim down and then unscrew the plastic cover holding the filter in place. Spark plugs I was quoted about $600 out the door. Did it myself the very first time and it took me about 3-4 hours being real careful. If I had to do it a second time it would be close to half that. The aluminum brace and charge pipes both need to be removed to do the plugs. If you're not mechanically inclined then the plugs is the only thing you should pay to have done. No offense to anyone but if you're driving these types of cars you should have enough knowledge and skill to replace the filters imo
What also annoys me is that the dealers are charging such outrageous prices and they won't even replace any of your aluminum bolts under the hood with fresh ones. If you look in ISTA, or hell even look under your hood, you'll see a sticker that tells you they need to be replaced.

I did install an K&N air filter, it's 80$ but it's lifetime, you need to clean it and oil it every 50 000 KM....Oil change takes 20 mn, I do it at home, oil filter is 20$ and oil 6 liters is 50$... |

Was also quoted 1200$ for spark plugs. Labor rate at the dealer here in Seattle area is 200$ an hour. Most dealers too, not just BMW.
I was quoted 450$ for spark plugs for our four cylinder X1. Yes I did and have done all the work myself. Keep in mind (sadly) this type of work is becoming "skilled" labor. Some people can't even hang a picture frame around here. (No joke). These new cars (EVs and ICE) aren't making anything better at teaching people how to do things on their own either... the future is truly scary. |
