What did you learn or discover about your M3/M4 today?

This was a really useful thread over on Rennlist. A running list of new things owners learned or discovered about their cars. Good or bad. Big or little. Lots of newbies and car geeks, present company included, love this stuff.

As an M4 cab owner in waiting, week 48 production date, I don't have much to offer yet. I do currently own a 2013 F30 328 M line sedan so I have some reference point.

One thing I leaned, which I think is correct. In the trunk, there's a elastic strap on the rear right side. My owners manual book fits perfectly. I'm assuming that's what it's for and frees up a ton of space in the glove box.

Checking bmwusa.com every hour doesn't speed up production.

That's not true. I check mine every hour, and mine just finished production. That's as much objective evidence as I require.

1) There's a nice spot in the driver and passenger door pocket to store a fairly sizable water bottle.
2) Nice to get the additional headroom by choosing the CF roof.
3) Speaking of CF roof -- Holy %*&$! It's gorgeous!
4) The BMW glasses case that you can purchase at shopbmwusa.com, has the same looking fabric as the M4 headliner. Rather than strapping the eyeglass case to one of the sun visors (via the included elastic strap) I simply got some heavy duty adhesive velcro and mounted the eyeglass case at the center of the ceiling, in front of the map light area. Looks like is was a stock mounted item.

>>>I've got a week 45 production date for my M4, so slightly ahead of you. Put down my deposit 2 months ago, with 2 more months (approx.) to go before delivery. Man, waiting is hard work!

>>>Recall that the owner's manual is also duplicated on the vehicle hard drive, so one could remove the paper copy entirely. Maybe use the elastic strap to store a quart of oil.

I thought the strap in the trunk was to hold a quart of oil.

Doing full throttle in 7th at 60mph and upshifting can be lots of fun (auto shifted into 3rd or 4th, don't recall). Just had the initial maintenance and starting to get a feel for what the car can do.

I have no further need for a vasectomy. Just turn the seat heaters on full blast sans skivvies -- no chance of having kids after that.

If you leave your e-z pass in the door with the velcro facing in and at the last second you go to grab it to hold it up to the windshield you may notice that it doesn't come out very easily and you have a oh shit moment. The e-z pass sticks to the material inside the door.
