Cost for going over miles on M4 lease?

Is it the rate at the time you leased the car that applies? Or what it is when you return the car

The sales manager at my dealer said it was 20 cents or 16 cents if you call them prior to lease end.

I believe it's at the time of lease - it should be included in the lease documentation.

Definitely at the time of signing the lease.

Overage mileage rates will be clearly spelled out in the docs you sign, and you can buy discounted (27 cents) miles up until 24 hours before turn in.

He is flat out wrong.
For all new leases post 1/1/2016, it's $0.30 if returned with access mileage, or 10% off ($0.27) if you pre-purchase upto 24 hours before lease maturity.

I believe there were two mileage rate hikes.
Originally (2014 time-frame), the rate was $0.20 per mile access, 20% discounted for pre-purchase, bringing it down to $0.16.
Sometime in 2015, BMW FS jacked up the rates to $0.25 per mile access, 8% discounted for pre-purchase to $0.23.

Post 1/1/2016, it's $0.30/0.27.
That's the highest tier BMW FS rate that also applies to i8's and 7-series.

I leased my car 02/12/2016 and it's .30 cents on my M3 and my brother-in-law leased a 2015 335i (demo) on 03/13/2016 and his is .25 cents.
