We've also went through 3 iDrive versions. v4 for 2015, v5 for 2016-2017, v6 for 2018. Touchscreen for 2018+ as well.

It's going to be a little strange that the 2018 M3 is going to have equipment unique to that year only. There's also the smattering of 2017 M3's with LCI II updates that happened mid model year, which BMW typically does not do.

seriously!! I hated the previous turn signals, I press it down to turn right for example, then when I press it up to stop it, it starts the left signal like it's playing games with me! finally........the damn thing clicks like in every other car

I have cursed those stupid turn signals since my first BMW in 1999. I am THRILLED that the over-engineered turn signal is finally gone.

FWIW, to turn your signal off you don't have to press in the opposite direction, you can press in the same direction again.

Your turn signal is on, now you want to turn it off. Press the stalk in the same direction as you would to turn your turn signal on for that direction but do not press it past the pressure "on" point. Only push it far enough that it would activate the "3 blink" mode. Your turn signal now turns off and you have 0 chance of activating the other side turn signal.

Yup, I discovered this by luck. never had a problem with manually turning off the signal

Sorry, should have added that to my post. We do not know why as it was not officially announced IIRC. Maybe some people on here can speculate? But I am not sure why. My guess is that they want the cars to move into the new age where we use USB instead of AUX. As to the headlight washers, no clue. Maybe they cost too much to fix or from their surveys found that not enough people use them.

I think it is also interesting to point out that the F8X is seemingly gaining a fair bit of weight since it's launch in 2014. AM&S are a rather reliable source for weight as they weigh the cars themeselves with a full load of fuel. The last CP DCT M4 they tested is a non-negligible 29kg (65lb) heavier than the DCT M4 they tested during their original supertest in 2014. It would be interesting to find our where the added weight comes from.

Center console is full piano black all the way to the edges unlike previous models.

Black seat inserts have "M3" or "M4" instead of just "M" on previous silver inserts.
