37 first M can't say the high was as great as getting a brand new C5 corvette as a graduation gift...though this car is superior and I'm earning and paying off every penny of it.

48 and owned M cars since my first, a 98 4dr. How many remember the BL/SS or UUC things...lol. Took a break with a brief foray into the domestic world, Z06 and built ZL1 (799whp), but glad to be back home.

What is happening?!! I’m 40, I bought my M4 as an early 40th bday present, which is the earliest in I could have afforded it. Married, no kids and I own a moderately priced condo. Some of you guys got these cars at an age I hadn’t yet finished college!!
I thought I was doin well in this life...going to go jump off my balcony now. Last edited by TheMrB; 09-28-2020 at 10:07 PM.. |

At age 66 I've been fortunate to have owned 3 E30 M3s, 2 E36 M3s, an E46 M3, 2 E28 M5s, currently have a M2C and F82 M4 in the garage. My next purchase will be a M8C.

I am 29 and this is my first M car. Ive always had coupes and as we are expecting our little one here shortly, the F80 was a perfect combination of fun and practical for my needs.

Younger generation may still have college loans or live in a apt or parents basement.. I had to wait a long time also, married, 1 kid, saving for his college, paid off home, set aside a small retirement fund as well. Plus I live in NJ, one of the highest property taxes in the nation.. Wife thought I did a great job so far and she purchased the F83 for me for my early 50th birthday.. I'm very happy and grateful.. once you've accomplished a life's setbacks, everyone deserves a nice toy.. Just enjoy the fruits of your labor.. Cheers! |

I own a 2018 F80 ZCP Manual in Tanzanite Blue with Golden Brows full leather. This is my 3rd M car. Had my first M E90 Silverstone, then an F82 Yaz Marina before this one. I love the car to bits every time I drive it. It is simply perfect for me. Had many BMW’s before, but once you have an M Car, I could not go back. Got spoiled I guess. Right now, I don’t know if I can follow BMW on the G80 generation. But, never say never. We’ll see what the LCI looks like. In the meantime, my F80 will do fine. Price, styling and weight are an issue for me in the new generation. 4WD will only make it heavier. Maybe a low mileage Porsche 911 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS - manual of course, will be next. There aren’t too many available. One has to be patient to find the ideal choice. |

36, going on 37 this month.
Bought my first pre-owned BMW (335) out of law school, then moved up to a pre-owned E92 M3 a few year ago. Sold that before we had our first child. Spent about 2 years without an M and spent about a year and a half of those looking for a very particular F80. The F80 was a very special and expensive purchase to me. Now, when I go to Indy shops or meets and see a lot of the much younger owners in the F8x platform, I feel quite out of place, lol. I guess prices have dropped enough where it's feasible when young and "single" with maybe less responsibilities?
