Auto Motor und Sport: M4 CP vs. RS5 vs. C63 S vs. RC F vs. ATS-V (in german)
Haven’t seen this posted before and thought I’d share. It’s from a German magazine, so for you that speak German or want to run it through a translator, here you go:
https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...-12799005.html To sum it up, the m4 pretty much wipes the floor with the rest and it’s their favorite by a longshot. |

I don't think anything in this class wipes the floor with anything. You could buy any one of these offerings and have a fantastic car that just about does it all from a driving perspective. Except for maaayybbeee the Lexus. Just my opinion.

I think you're probably right. I was just translating what the article said and what their opinion is.

I purchased one of the super early RCFs in lava orange because I viewed it as something completely different. I kind of gave it a hard time, but overall my wife and I really enjoyed that car. I totaled it so I also did not get clobbered by the massive depreciation.
After owning an F80 ZCP for a year, I would take the RCF over an M4 if one gave me a choice today and I had to pick one of those cars. I don't need the stop light to stop light bragging rights and I think most on here could run faster laps around a closed circuit course in an RCF because it is easier to control and drive at or nears its limits. I think the RCF in Lava Orange looks better than an M4 (don't like it in other colors . . .), it certainly is drives better for daily driving purposes and I like the interior and seats. Yeah, the RCF or Lexus moniker will never be as cool as BMW or M series moniker to the high school boys reading car mags and focusing on a bunch of silly numbers that get pretty meaningless when driving these cars as every day drivers, but the RCF is a better all-around car. Conclusion
The Cadillac is lacking pressure, the Mercedes on light-footed, the Lexus on the possibilities and Audi on the will to crash the boisterous performance party of the BMW. The M4 was, is and remains the lonely top of all cross-dynamics relevant disciplines, the best entertainer, but not the only one who entertains. In any case, the ATS-V and C 63 are almost as much fun. The one with his tangible road contact, the other with the soft rear swing. And the Audi? Let's put it diplomatically: In everyday life, he seems cool and agile - no less, but no more.

What did they mean the Cadillac is lacking in pressure? Did it need more boost to keep up in the straights? (I think I'm missing out on something)
Thanks for the translation |

It's interesting to read these comparisons. These cars are so evenly matched (except maybe the Lexus) that the outcome is very reviewer dependent. Nonetheless, good showing for the M4 (and ATS-V IMO).
(P.S. you can use Google Translate to view the article in English.)

Anyone have the full article with the lap times? They said the M4 CP was the fastest at 1.3 seconds ahead of the C63S (second place). I'm more surprised the AMG was quicker than the ATS-V.
The RS5 seems like a typical Audi RS. Great car on the street, but a disappointment on track. It's sad that Mercedes and BMW are making better AWD performance cars these days than Audi with the new E63's and M5's. |

Invisible on track days as not many RCFs out there and guys buying them are, well, Lexus guys that probably care little about track days or have enough $$$ to buy a real track car. Most on here, however, would likely be faster on a technical track in the RCF as most (99%) on here don't have the car control skills to run an F8X at or near the limits. How many 458s, 488s, Aventadors, McLarens, 918s, AMG GTRs and etc. do you see on track days? Guys with those are running real track cars as well. |
