CarPlay does not support HUD.

Just ordered my ID6 retrofit with touchscreen for Black Friday from Rob at retrofitmybimmer.com. I’ll let you know how it goes! If there’s any installation tips that I should know of ahead, let me know. I.e placement of the wireless antenna.

Has anyone done a ID4 to ID6 upgrade on a 2015M and installed a back up camera as part of the upgrade? I'd love to do the HU upgrade but want to add a bu camera at the same time.

Can't speak for MMI.

You can add a touchscreen, that's what I did. It will require coding to activate/enable the touchscreen.

You replaced the main unit right? I was talking about just updating software on the id4 to id6-lite. I have NBT-EVO but the 2016 version, dying for a touch screen retro fit but dont want to spend another $1500 for it..

Yes, I did do the upgrade of the entire headunit and changed out the screen. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do the software only ID6 upgrade, do the touchscreen upgrade/retrofit and do the necessary coding to enable the touchscreen to work.

ID4 hardware does not support Touch Screen.

thestimp if you are wanting to add a Touchscreen to your F80 you will require a RMB retrofit kit.

iDrive 4 EVO to iDrive 6 FLASH + Coding will only support your current (APIX1) screens which are not touch.

Yes, it is required.
iDrive 4 hardware is just not capable of handling Touch Screen.

If I have the 2gb ram "2.1" version is it still plagued with the lag and resets? Also, if I update to id6lite or whatever, will my MMI still work? Since its id4 hardware?

It works really well when using CarPlay.
No lags and reboots at all from our experience.

It's possible to get ID6 with old ID4 Hardware? I thought you needed id4 evo at the minimum. How do you go about upgrading? And it runs 100% smooth?
