Becareful and enjoy in good health. I had 2.5liter 170hp of raw fury banging out of a 4speed automatic at age 16 and a 1992 MPV that would go nowhere fast. If I had had 400+rwhp I would probably not be alive today.

Wait...

You were 19 when you picked up an F80?

When did you get your drivers license and what was your first car?

I feel I have under achieved in life.

I was still in college at 21.
Got my L's at 16. Came from a 370z 6MT. Don't feel underachieved man, be proud that you get to drive one now.

How were able to get a 370 at 16

That's 10th grade

How were you able to get a car loan or save to buy it?

Damn, I must be doing something wrong in life. We got 16 and 21 year old driving the same car. How do you guys afford a 80k car at that age?

I'm following my financial advisor's rule of thumb:

Aim to spend less than 10% of your take-home pay on your car payment and less than 15% to 20% on car expenses overall.

31. Just moved over to a 2017 Mineral Grey F80 Competition via an F30 328i and an F87 M2 on Monday. I see what people mean when they say the OG M2 wasn't a real M car. I loved it, but they are just different animals.

49. Got tired of my motorcycles collecting dust because we are always running kids somewhere. Figured I would get more use from a high-performance sedan.

40 y.o. - first M car (second Bimmer) but this car reminds me the most of my Z32TT more than any other car I've owned.

35 here. The F8x platform is getting cheaper and more readily available to idiots. Been a few times where I've thought I need to get into a GT3...quickly.
GT3 will be disappointing coming from an f80.
Little torque down low and you have to rev it up a lot to get power out of it. Handles amazing.
991.2 Carrera S is a better bet for daily driving

I drove both and the conclusion surprised me actually

Any young peeps wanna buy my car?
Sorry. Respectfully completely disagree with your assessment. Plenty of power in the gt3. And it actually is able to put the power down with losing its ass all the time. I have an 18 gt3 manual and have had an f80 before as well as a current f90. Gt3 is a special driving experience every time you hop in. Nothing bmw makes makes you feel like driving is an event like the gt3 does. Oh ya, I'm 43!
45 and +1 on this. GT3 accelerates harder than the F80 and this is linear to 9k but everything about it can handle the power and everything is engineered in balance. Well sorted suspension and amazing steering feel as good as any hydraulic system. Makes my F80 feel like an Elantra after a ride in it (Porsche mechanicals are just tighter and not numb). Every drive is an experience. If I didn't have to deal with snow it would be my only car. Have driven every M car bmw makes and nothing touches it.

Try to take 3 kids golfing however and the GT3 falls flat . Loving the F80 after 5.5 years of driving it, on and off ramps still make me grin.

I got a really good price on mine. I was casually looking on eBay for some cars that I might be interested in in January, and stumbled upon a 2016 M4 with all the carbon M performance goodies and even the MPE exhaust for just a hair over $42k with 25k miles. I didn’t have my license then but knew a deal like this wouldn’t come up for a while, so I talked to my parents and we agreed to split it 50/50 at first and then I pay the other 50% back over 2-3 years.

Thank you,
The car definitely was dangerous at first. I had some close calls that I learned from and I think the car has actually made me an overall better driver. It’s also good that I got my boy racer phase out of my system in the first 1-2 months of driving the car, and I’ve learned to take it easy when driving.
(I also have it tuned to 530hp &#128521

+1

I had a 2016 before my 2018 M4, so I've been around for awhile now. After obnoxious burbles becoming more prominent, and intake/turbo spool sounds in 10mph parking lots...I've made my mind it's time to move on.

If you love the car but hate the burbles get them tuned out....easy enough to do. You have what, 1 year of warranty left....
