Agree That's why I need a change from my AW beast. I just hope I like the other color as much. I really keep going back to SO, mineral grey seems like it will get lost and will look dirty often

My original thought was Sakhir Orange. I love it in most lights but looks red in some lights. I do not like red. I mentioned San Marino bc I truly thinks it contrasts well with carbon roof, black out grill, black wheels. I was more or less complaining that its not a standard color. LOL. I guess if I went individual and I was paying that extra I would opt for something completely different...Its expensive though and not worth it as I keep my cars a year or less...Hmmm, now I just confused myself!! LOL...

I like AW and MW and I almost always get black cars, but without meaning to sound like a snob, the regular colors just look too similar to 435 or 428 M sport. Thats the issue I have..

And it sucks that that will ring up a $5k bill if you want that color. I agree if Singapore Grey was offered, I'd check it off with the SS interior in a second

Going with Black Sapphire at first I was going to go with the Mineral Grey but I was at a BMW dealer in Charlotte and looked at a 4 series mineral grey and a black sapphire and did not like how the grey looked in the sun now the black was beautiful

How much will individual cost, I wonder? I see that M5 is the only one listing individual colors on bmwusa.com and the price is $1,950

The 7 series has a lot as well. The M5 also has a frozen color on there for 3k I think.. I think if BMW offers a handful of individual colors on that site it will be that 1,950 price but if you want a truly individual color it may be 5k.. Also since they mentioned the individual Amaro brown interior on their fb page for the F8x I think it will follow that same format.. I hope that's the case bc I want that interior in the F80 I'm ordering!

Your opinion is contrary to reality; though is the exact reason why it's true.

I sold a phoenix yellow E46 M3 and a lemans blue E92 M3. Both commanded significantly higher price than the AW/black/silver cars. I had one buyer point out a black one for a $4K less (on $77K asking) and I said, OK, go buy it. Obviously, he didn't. When people DO want a different colour, there will be so few available due to your exact mentality.

BMW has been offering 4-6 individual colors at a reduced price if $1950 on some of the upper models lately.

If you want a true individual color that's not offered as such, like say, Santorini blue, that usually runs about $5k.

Yep, because you sold one yellow and one blue car it must be true, they are more in demand in the aggregate than white/black/silver/gray.....

That's way bold!! I have an AW car and agree that its timeless however, but other colors aren't a fail. Some people need a change. I was going to go SO, but I really love the way the MG looks now. Heading to detroit in an hour or so. So I will see if the AY really looks that violent in person. I agree some colors are for the moment and will wear faster, but red M3s and nice blues are still very coveted colors in e46s and e92s.

PS My white M3 can always be found in a parking lot contrary to the other guys opinions, its not a 911

Actually.. yeah. I priced based on similar colours. And if I was pricing based on the going price of those colours, then it isn't just my experience. Now, those other cars I priced to, they were based on pricing of other cars of similar colours.. do you see where I am going with this? Phoenix yellow e46 M3's command a higher price, across the board. You can't just ask whatever price you want and expect to get it.

Listen, do a bit of research in resale values before jumping to conclusions, which seem to be based entirely off of initial sales numbers. People pick AW/silver/black because they are *safe* colours, not because of resale which I am explaining here. If you like AW so much that's fine, just don't defend it on the basis of resale value--nobody is going to be scramble for an AW . There will be TONS in the market. Defend it because you like it. It's not your fault that you are attracted to a boring colour.
