Crank hub replacement

Has anyone had the crank hub replaced in the Portland area? If so, which shop?
Thanks in advance.

They quoted me 5600.00 to do the work! It is not just high, but outrageous! But then again I am getting quotes of 1500.00 from other shops to do plugs that I did under 2 hours for the first time.

The crank hub replacement is rather involved. Requires the removal of numerous parts before you can even get started. In addition, there are various gaskets, bolts, hoses, tensioners, oil, coolant, etc required for reassembly. The crank hub kit alone runs around $1,000.

In total, parts will run close to $1,800. Labor is 22 to 25 hours. Do the math.

There are several good videos on YouTube documenting a crank hub replacement. Watch them and watch how much work is required to replace the hub. Then you will understand why it costs so much.
