However, I actually also really like that about the f8x, it's centered around the driving experience, which just about any BMW does well. I kind of prefer that this car feels more analog. All that fancy tech is cool, and neat to show your passengers, but it only goes so far. I think if I really wanted all of the fancy, I'd just have gotten into a 7 series instead, however, I do get that some of the tech cars have today has become somewhat of an expectation for a lot of people. |

It's a "Performance Car" not a luxury automobile, although unfortunately on its way. More raw, the better...

There is a car to fit every need. M3 and M4 are to fulfill driving need first and all else second. There is nothing wrong with wanting it; there would be something wrong if BMW were to oblige on these models. They have become far too heavy and bloated with comfort features already.
M5, M6, and now M8 exist purely for creature comforts. Driving dynamics are driver engagement are secondary. They are more suitable for your needs, as described.

Front camera. The current front side pointing cameras help, but an over the nose camera would be better to help us not hit the parking stops against the splitter.

I hear you. From a pure driving standpoint, even for an F80 owner, the model 3 is seriously additive to drive. But the reason I don't have one is : It looks bad inside and out, missing a lot of features I have in the M3. All the griping we do here about stuff missing on the F80 is far more missing on a Model 3. But you can't beat that seriously addictive throttle response for on street use.

A Lotus Elise is definitely on my list of cars I would love to own. Currently, I need a back seat to drive my daughter around [IMG][/IMG] If I went two seater, it would probably be an F430 or Diablo. Current dream car would be a Carrera T or GT3 Touring with a drivers bucket seat and a regular passenger seat to allow the rear seats to remain. |

For the GT3 option you can get folding seats that allow access to the rear seats. Generally found in the GT2 and called GT2 seats. You can even get them in cloth. Super comfortable and pretty much race ready. Unfortunately you will pay 10k + for the option. I had those for a few years and they are worth every penny.

this is why cars keep getting heavier most of you are in the wrong car, should be looking at M5 or X5M if you want all those creature comforts. |

I have a 2007 G35S sedan and I was surprised that my F80 ZCP didn't have a tilt and telescopic steering column like the G35. It was really nice to turn on/off the car and have the seats and steering move so you can get in and out. Would be super nice with this car considering it's hard as hell to get in those zcp seats; i'm always trying to not put much weight on the side bolsters to keep the seats in good condition as long as I can.
I suspect it was a weight reducing and/or cost thing but as far as weight, the G35 weighs more or less, 3500 pounds. |

Fixed back bucket seats and camber plates please
If they do heavy stuff like AC seats, hope it’s an optional “heavyweight” / “touring” or whatever package and not a standard feature. |

I do wish the car had CAS on all door handles though. At the end of the day there's always going to be some things people wish the car had, or didn't have - to reduce weight. I'd gladly save some weight with lighter seats... leathers great, but not personally high on my list. My 2 cents.

Wow, really?? I am definitely going to want to code that in. And the CAS on all door handles, that is one also that gets annoying as hell; for some reason I always forget and end up trying to open the back door locked then having to go back to the front door handle to unlock it. Ugh! |

I'll 2nd CAS on all 4 doors. I was shocked when I got my M3 that it didn't exist on the rear doors. I think about that every time I have a kid in my arms and I grab the rear door handle to a locked door.

My wife drives a 2019 MDX, I really wish my M3 had some of the MDX tech:
1) Ventilated seats 2) Split view camera - I see both the rear view and the bird's eye view in a split screen. Or I can select side views or front view along with the bird's eye view. But it will default to rear if in reverse or front if in drive. 3) Android auto play 4) Auto locks as I'm walking away Overall the interior of her car is way better, I even like the layout of controls and unlike most people I don't have complaints about the MDX multiple screens. But M3 > TLX A Spec. |

Maybe this is not totally in topic because the thread seems to be focused exclusively on luxury, but I think “premium features” could be interpreted to fit what I will say:
1. Standard coil over suspension that really handles and rides better than the current stock setup. 2. Alcantara headliner. 3. Better ambient lighting, ala Mercedes. 4. Option for a super premium sound system. The HK isn’t bad, but it could be so much better.
