Hey guys. I'm in the market for downpipes, so I made a post on the F8X facebook group regarding what downpipe everyone is running.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/bmwf...6560284944011/

I was always curious about the ARM downpipes as they have built in resonators, but heard issues with fitment when they first came out.

If you look at the link and see the poll i created, it seems that ARM is actually the second most popular aftermarket downpipes after VRSF.

Does anybody have experience with ARM? Is fitment good? Do they truly sound different? Does the resonator prohibit as much air flow? Or should I just stick with traditional VRSF?

I installed them myself on my car about 2 months ago and haven't had any issues.

My friend has catless/non-resonated downpipes and his is VERY raspy compared to mine. No difference in performance between the two either.

Please note, there are 2 different ARM downpipe versions. When reading customer reviews, make sure to check if its the newest one with the flex section.

Here is how the new version looks

Why the change? Less vibration?

Yes the newly added flex section should help with that

Is there that much vibration with the non-flex joint pipes?

It depends on who you ask

In my opinion, if the downpipes are of good quality with top-notch fitment. You won't be able to notice the difference once it's installed.

EAS did the install today, everything went according to plan as my usual experience there has always been good. Nobody complained about fitment so I'll assume they fit just fine. Sounds way better than I anticipated for being fully catless, though I don't think any catless F80 setup will ever come even remotely close to my old E9XM... I also immediately turned down my burbles to the lowest setting, otherwise it is just obnoxious. Smell doesn't bother me (yet).

Do you have pictures of the downpipes?

Have them installed on my F80 and fitment is perfect!

We actually used the OEM mounting plate to retain the 2 T30 bolts

ARM Catted with MAD Single Midpipe. The Downpipes did rattle after installing them so I had to get a small tack weld put on one between the downpipe and the flange. Besides that they sound great and no issues so far.
