I have the same opinion on sound. It really does need to scream. BMW set the bar high with the current M. However, I won't say that when I modded my 335i that it didn't get me to grin from ear to ear ![]()

The only positives in that video is it does appear to be near production ready and it has updated angel eyes. Other than that, it sounds great for a 6 cylinder but like shit compared to what they had.
My car is going to be sought after and valuable, not at introduction but shortly thereafter.

I don't understand all this crying about exhaust note. Rly? Since when does anyone buy a car just for the exhaust note?
And I think the most important thing is being forgotten... The current M3 is limited in tuning unless you're willing to dump $$$ on a surcharges and accompanying mods. With this new reworked N55, I'm sure it'll be mod friendly like the N54 and you'll be easily pushing 600hp with much less $$. I'm looking forward to design more than anything, I already know this car will be a machine. AMG's are sexy and fast, but unless they're going turbo too they won't touch this car!! |

So with the even bigger disparity between the M3\4 now
I could see the M3 having the louder exhaust and being more M and the M4 being more GT... But I do think BM went soft on the noise output of the new M5/6 to get more revenue across the range.. The enthusiasts will just upgrade the exhausts and the purists will keep their S(6/8)5 |

I heard benz is making a c63 6.3 liter twin-turbocharged v8... jk.
Sounds like a remus exhaust though.

Lots of complaining based off a youtube video for a camouflaged car thats 12 plus months away from production. Not to say that the complaints won't be warrented but why don't we reserve judgement till we know what the finished product is.
Seems there's always complaints about looks for BMW cars then they come out and everyone is in love. I for one can't wait for this thing to come out.

Can somebody explain to me why did the test mule driver make a U turn in front of the spy photographer? It doesn't add up... The point of having camos to keep a low profile, yet we seen the M3 being filmed as if it's a commercial? It looks fishy.. Jason please provide some info about the video please.

Well guys, this video looks like an "inside" job to me.
The camera guy always shows up well ahead of the test car at almost perfect angle just like a commercial shoot. Why does a test car with camo ever need a car wash ? Looks like another "promo" video to spike things up about the F80 in the run up to the official unveiling. ![]() |

I specifically asked the photographer about that turn the M3 made in front of him (looked fishy to me also) and he says that he had seen them turn at that junction many times before, so he waited there for a close up shot. Also added that if he had been hit with the car, he would have evidence on video for a legal action. I can assure you it's not an inside job. Whether the BMW test drivers make themselves easily photographed for publicity, I don't know.

I'm usually really big on the way a car sounds but in this case, every other detail of this new M3 is practically guaranteed to be so great that I legitimately don't care what it sounds like. I would buy one immediately if I could afford it. |

I think it looks great. The exhaust note is aggressive, though a bit quiet. I would love to buy this car used in a few years |

You could be right. It could be the first M3 to lose more than just a couple comparos. If the competitors go with ttV8's, it could be trouble.
