It is a chick magnet just as your muscles are at a gym, it will attract only the bros.

My wife gets annoyed because EVERY time I drive her car (e39 M5) someone talks to me about it (with her in the passenger seat)... but nobody ever talks to her about it when she’s solo driving it.

Also amusing, our car that gets to most thumbs up/etc is the M3 converted (mechanically/electronically— not cosmetically) wagon. That thing is an attention generating machine— and there no way for people to know it isn’t a (admittedly well kept) 325i!

My red '07 350z - chick magnet

My '09 WRX - bro magnet/highly effective chick repellent.

My '12 R8 - kid magnet, photos and gawks from other cars' rear seats every time it's out.

My '14 black S4 - chick magnet. My wife/then gf has a thing for Jason Statham in the Transporter movies, and it was much easier to buy the car than build my body She just wanted out of that Subaru ASAP.

'17 M3 - biggest bro magnet I've ever owned. I don't think 1 woman besides my wife has ever mentioned anything about it except for how comfortable the cloth seats are and how warm they get with the heaters. Eh, I'll take it.

Good thing I buy cars for myself

M4, nah, AY M4...Hell yea! From construction workers to a van full of nuns (no joke). Someone says something about it, at least once a week. It's a head turner for sure.

Man I can relate to my car being a bro magnet. At least once a week a get a random dude come up to me talking about my car. After I changed my exhaust to VSRF downpipe, AA mid and Remus exhaust it has now become a kid magnet lol. Kids always turning to the sound of my car. When I use to drive a 435I vert I had more females look at my direction.

M3/M4 does have magnetic feel

Who cares if its woman or man But always men compliment on M cars. Women prefer pampering

Enjoy the car and ride. Overthinking kills

I've only had the car a week but I already had a teenage boy shout out "DUDE! YOUR CAR IS FRESH" when pulling up to some lights haha.

Girls, massively uninterested though it seems (including my wife). I suspect that will change in the summer when the roof comes down?

My wife's friend tried to drape herself across the hood the first time she saw the M3 ... I almost passed out. She then walks around the car; Oh my god look at the curves... "What kind of BMW is this she asked. I just said 3 series; to much to explain to a non car person the differences.

But mostly bro's notice the car...

Replace the C H with a D and that's the type of magnet the M3 or M4 is.

I don't know why that's the funniest thing I read and there are a lot of competition here for that title.

However, my neighbor has an STI with an exhaust and every time I hear it start in the morning, I think "What an asshole."

BTW, on the topic of loud exhaust, it doesn't attract women; they see it as a nuisance or you have a muffler that's broken.

It's equivalent to burps and farts noises to them, they deal with it because they have no other choice.

You have a better chance pulling a girl with a new, clean Honda Accord over an obnoxious BMW.

Don't believe me, ask them

I have to agree with this. Last night we parked the M3CS behind a base 718 Cayman and in front of an R8 and next to an M4. All late models.

There were a few girls that wanted to take selfies in front of cars so they went to the Cayman (in spite of it being the cheapest of the bunch). Once the driver jumped in and drove off (I think exhaust was modded), everyone was staring.

Point is, most people will simply see the badge. Porsche is more exclusive than Audi and BMW regardless of which car was more expensive.

This situation applies in most of the south based on my experience. Can't speak for other regions.

I don't think so. Back when I was in my early 20's, I would be thinking to myself the same thing- Just work a little harder and one day you'll be able to afford that M3.
Add me to that list - I was a teenager when the first generation M5 arrived here in the USA - I didn't even have my drivers license yet and I remember thinking to myself - wow - perfect car to have when I'm grown up!

Dream came true - on my third M car now!

Lol. Funny thread.

Here’s my .02 cents:

At my latest job, I’ve gotten compliments from older women about my car, definitely think the color (sahkir orange) helps.

BUT what really got the young girls ( 20 somethings ) tripping was my loaner!!
2019 X4!! Yes the X4, had one walk into the office asking who’s hot bimmer that was!!

Maybe it’s me? Had one BMW service tech walk up to me and say “I would get so much a$$ with this car!” ... I just laughed.

Now OTOH, picking my daughter from HS, I get A LOT of attention from the boys, yelling nice car etc.. I believe I can get the same reaction with any bright colored V8 muscle car!

I've had women comment on it, but never had this happen with a woman. This lambo guy drove all the way across the parking lot at the mall to compliment my car and ask if he could get out and check it out.

I got more attention in the Porsche Cayman S than I do in the M4. My Valencia Orange Z4 got a lot of looks too.

I agree with an earlier comment that, other than BMW enthusiasts, the M3/M4 is just another German sedan.

Seems color has a lot to do with getting attention. SO, AY, YMB draw attention and really show the unique M body style details.
