Valvetronic motor sensor plug location
I had my car parked for most of the winter on a ctek charger. I drove it today to my dentist apt, ran fine. It sat in the parking lot for maybe an hour and then on the way home I noticed a cel. It posted 2 codes:
35C11 Valvetronic servomotor position sensors: Signals implausible 135A08 Valvetronic, servomotor position sensors:signal implausible I also here the tapping sound when i unlock the door. I recall this happened years ago and then went away and didn't come back until now. I have it back on the tender now, I am suspicious of the battery to be honest in addition to the sensor itself. its a 2015 with only 15k miles on it, so its rarely driven. I can get it replaced but like i mentioned I am a bit suspicious of it being voltage related. there is supposedly a process in ista to recalibrate the sensor but i am unable to locate it. i saw suggestions for pulling the connection and checking/cleaning the conductors, can anyone tell me where the connector is and if its accessible without taking too much apart? i have seen pics that makes it look like its in the middle of the head but then i see people saying they tried unplugging the sensor and plugging it back in as if it wasn't a big deal, but taking the engine cover off i didn't really see anything. |

Got it thanks, i did reseat that, didn't fix anything. Plugs also looked perfect. I am unable to run the valvetronic relearn in ista, it says either the motor is running or the valvetronic relay has not been applied. I am going to try a newer version of ista, if that doesn't work I'm going to try to lock my dme in bm3 and try again. If all of that fails it looks like ill be replacing the motor and praying the eccentric shaft is ok when I inspect the teeth.

Yep, right where he said. 👆
In the pic it's where the purple cable goes. I'd try unplugging and replugging as a first step. Do the easy end (top side) first, and do the DME end if that doesn't work.
