E92 was out of commission for private day at Thunderhill East. Grateful for a very capable pinch hitter. DS2500's weren't happy.

Really? Not sure how that's even possible. They were smoking after 5 laps with medium pressure (7/10) and medium pace 2:08. DS2500 and SRF, stock calipers and rotors. T14 was especially sketchy. I was supposed to be there in the E92 so didn't even push the car hard, just focused on learning Thill.

M4 CS owners, question please. This would probably be for those of you who have had other models of the car as well before (non CS).
Today was one of the first times I've ever driven the car with the windows up. I generally don't drive unless it's in the 50s minimum as I'm a classic windows down type of person, but today I had to make a quick trip to the sister's house and I drove with the windows up as it was in the 40s. As I was on the highway, as soon as I hit over 70mph I could hear slight humming coming from the rear end of the vehicle. This is now my 4th F8x car, and I've never heard this before. The noise didn't seem to increase with the vehicle speed (I didn't go over 85mph), and as soon as I dropped below 70mph the humming went away. I guess you could drive yourself mad thinking what it could be, but I was wondering if perhaps the CS has less sound deadening which might be causing me to hear it? Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary with the vehicle, just the humming. Any help would be appreciated before I start thinking about making an appointment at the dealer. Only mods to the car are MPHAS, spacers, and MPE all installed by the dealer. Thanks. |

Yes, there seems to be less sound deadening in the CS, and your M4 door cards are also thinner. I noticed more wheel well noise over my 2016 base M3 especially when hitting some road debris etc.

No! Horrible! My greatest fear with this valuable lip and why I didn't go any lower than the recommended settings on my MPHAS even though I'm nowhere near satisfied with the drop. Sorry to see that!
I'm really considering removing the stock lip, installing a knockoff, and going a bit lower in the front. I'll save the stock lip until I sell the car then reinstall prior to handing over the keys maybe. Quote:

https://www.vividracing.com/-p-15587...IaAiocEALw_wcB I, unfortunately, had a track day incident and destroyed my CS lip, but luckily found one for sale here used. I would have gotten a knock off if it weren't for that.

Wow, what’s the deal with this car? This is a color I’ve never seen on a CS! Only one picture but I’ll be keeping an eye for more as it appears they just got it in!

CS for sale
Do you guys think it’s safe to buy this cs
https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/WBS8M9C5XJ5L00306 The dealer offered to throw in a year extension on the factory warranty. I want to do it but hesitant because of the two accidents. Do you think the accidents will affect its reliability? |
