Are you talking about my car? Yes, I believe it's OEM as I've seen it on other CS cars as well. Honestly, I'm bummed about it on my car due to it being glossy on a matte paint. I've looked into having it removed and replaced with XPEL, but the detailer was extremely upfront and honest and said there's a slight chance the removal could pull the paint. FDB2 is such a nightmare to deal with in regards to paint match, I've been debating about going through the whole process. Not sure it's a roll of the dice I want to deal with. Last time I had paint done to the car (when I purchased it), the car was gone for like 6 weeks.

I'd check with the dealership about your car, they actually charged you for the rear fender protection?!?

Yep, I noticed it on your car. My dealer had a $600 charge for "xpel paint protection". When I asked where, they sent me photos of the front of the fenders. I figured, 'eh, I'm driving it 1200 miles, better safe than sorry. Sucks that they charged me for something that came from the factory.

My car has a few chips, and what looks to be a dent pull. They aren't noticeable from a distance, and the car is in my garage now, so it's all good. I'm not going to obsess too much about every little flaw, especially with frozen paint.

That said, my plan was to remove the gloss PPF and matte wrap at least the nose and hood... time will tell though.

Jeeze, that’s some sleazy low down crap they pulled!

So glad you like the car though, be sure to post some pics!

Yes - that clear bra section is factory. PPF installed from new on my 3CS, that small factory peice was pulled off. No paint issue on SMB. Then did full Xpel PPF. Added an extra layer on top for double protection in same area in front of rear wheels.

Anyone who has FDB II paint will never be perfect. All of them i've seen online always have something minor even if it has full xpel wrap. . Just how it goes with this paint. But they made so few of this color compared to all CS and will find less and less of them over time.

Yep, I'm just dealing with it. A bright sunny day at the right (wrong?!?) angle definitely shows any flaws in the paint. Overcast/night hides everything though. It's such a gorgeous color, but anyone with OCD stay away because this is not the color/paint for you!

What are the core differences between F80/F82 CS?

I know F82CS has cooler rear lights, CFRP trunk, and lightweight door panels.

Is that about it?

F82 CS is the “real” CS so it gets:

1. Lightweight GTS Door Cards
2. GTS Upholstered Seats
3. GTS Tail Lights
4. Lighter Weight Base Radio
5. F82 CS got a Melbourne Red Variant

F80 CS is more of a parts bin CS to appease sedan heavy markets, hence why it doesn’t have all the lightweight parts and has a reused Jahre interior.

All this info is in the OP

A CS model is more than the cosmetics…

A little more horsepower, a chunk more torque, some downforce, less weight, and specific tuning.

You do lose a few conveniences, comfort access being the most obvious, so it’s not without trade offs but in many ways, an M4cs is a very diffferent car from its brother the F82 comp. It’s tracked-focused but sweet on the streeet and still eminently daily-drivable.

As for exclusivity, I’m in SoCal where there are supposedly many and I’ve seen 4 M4cs in 4 years!…and I hit up the BMW events and track the car. I see more GTS than CS…just me but just saying.

I still haven't seen a single M4 CS on the road besides the one I have. Even in Miami!

I wasn't searching, but my buddy at a local dealer had someone trade in a 2019 M4CS in FDBII for an MKV Supra. I drove right up and drove it. Even though I was nervous of the Frozen finish, I couldn't walk away and drove it home. Just a touch over 40k miles, Exec package.

I just washed it finally for the first time. Waiting on an entire kit of stuff from Dr. Beasleys to do what I can to get it as good looking as possible. Other than some minor road blasting on the lower front bumper, back of the rockers, and some random scratches here and there, the paints in pretty good shape.

Not right now! I was living in Miami (Doral) for awhile but when my office was closed down I moved back to STL for the most part since all my family is here. The plan was to get back to Miami after things settled down a bit with housing prices, but it just ain't backing off! I have a buddy down there who has a friend who rents out furnished homes a month at a time, so I spend about 1/4th of the year down there now. I'm back in STL now and will likely be back to Miami in early October or so once the summer heat subsides.

My car is basically yours minus the CCBs/matte paint. Love the FDB2 and SMB! I just have the MPHAS on it, MPE exhaust, spacers, and Vorsteiner diffuser/side skirts. I'm pretty much done with the car now as I think the CS is basically perfect as is, but always have my eyes out for a Brembo GT kit F&R.

Maybe I'll bump into you sometime in the fall!

Congrats and beautiful car, we basically have twins! She's just screaming for a drop however, and be sure to get an MPE exhaust if it doesn't already have one.

I got a chance to look it over last night and the only mod I found is an AA single midpipe. I fully agree it needs a drop, but I don’t want to mess up the current ride/handling. It feels perfect.

Also trying to decide on downpipes, resonated or catted, I want to try and keep out as much of the S55 rasp as I can. But just enjoying the car right now.

A little side topic but what is the best / cheapest place to buy an OEM front lip for the M3 CS (51-11-8-076-049)? My buddy has an M3 CS and hit a dip and cracked the front lip and is looking to replace. Or maybe if someone has a good condition used one that might work too?
