For the track goers out here - how have you thought about braking systems for a car that’ll see 5-6 track weekends per year (10-12 individual track days)?
I use my CS 80% Track and 20% street, did 8 track days on stock setup with the blue calipers.

No issues with rotor warp.

At the 13K mile mark i swapped the stock pads to Ferodo DS2500. Didn't swap rotors as there was a good chunk of meat left. Proper bedding procedure was performed to make sure pads are mated to the un even surface.

7K miles and 12 track days no issues, no brake fade for the most part. If the outside temps are 100+ i do get some fade but this is also the tires getting a little greasy due to higher temps.

Supporting mods:
-SS lines (bimmerworld aka stoptech)
-Castrol SRF swap after every track day or if the fluid turns brown which ever comes first.
-100TW Nankang AR1 tires for street/track use.

I believe and this is my opinion, if you hit the track on 280-300+ Treadwear tire you don't have the proper traction levels at the track. The tires lack grip so your braking performance is reduced. This requires you to be more on the pedal longer with more pedal effort. This is why most guys complain about lack of brake or brakes fade.

If you use a good tire R compound 100TW stock braking is improved significantly so you're on it hard and off the brakes quick. Even light modulations will yield quicker stopping power.

FYI I am a momentum driver so i am used to using the turns to slow the car down vs being hard on the brakes. This is what happens when you make a 200hp car go as fast as a 400hp car at the track. I do about 20 track days a year.

Suggestions:
Ferodo:
-DS2500 is a very mild pad, it does not like excessive heat if you are heavy on the brakes these pads will wear out too fast.
-DS3000 would be a better option but it's a fine line between track/street use. Expect them to squeal.

EBC:
- I have heard the Blue stuff is a good compromise for street/track. It slots between DS2500 and DS3000. Worth a shot

HAWK:
- I only tried DTC 60, it comes on hard modulation is not the best but if you are a heavy braking type of guy these would do it for you.

For rotors Stock is good enough if you source from FCP they have a competitive warranty program.

2pc is always a plus with cooling and some weight savings but the FCP deal wins in the long run for me.

This is super helpful, thanks. I’m going FCP + Hawk pads. Have a 3-day event this weekend, will report back.

Wealth of info, great post!

If you're open to suggestions I might recommend you give Endless brake fluid a try. You'll be able to last many track days without swapping, or even so much as bleeding, honestly.

Can I ask you for a favor...

When I delivery of my CS I removed the badge because the chrome looks out of place.

I plan on purchasing the IND black CS badge in the next few days. What I need help with is badge placement.

Is it possible for you to measure the distances for the sides and height.

Basically i need 2 dimensions
Sides: Edge of the trunk (right) to the letter S
Height: The body line above license plate to the ///M logo

Thank you

IND for the win, they really did a great job on my CS badge to match the brake caliper colors I have. I’d just take pics of your current badge placement and go from there. As well, once you remove the old ones there will likely be an outline in the paint where you can easily match up the new badges.

Interesting you ask me this, as I also need the same info. Sorry I can't help, but will be on the lookout for someone else to respond.

I'm the 2nd owner of this car. The OG owner installed 100% PPF and of course in doing so had to reapply the trunk badge. If you look closely, my rear badge placement is wrong.

Joining the club with a 2019 CS. Probably doing Sebring at the end of August, should be a fun time.

I removed the badges in 2018 when the car was first purchased. So the markings are gone when the car was coated.

Originally there was no plans to install the ///M3CS badge back on until i saw your image and now i want to install a black one.

This is why i was requesting if someone can measure badge location so i can get it close and not make it look like a fake ///M like the rest.

NickyC Fuck me man that FDB looks good. I finally saw one irl!

Yesterday, I stumbled upon an FDB M3CS on my way to work, about 8:50am-ish on 280SB, they exited at 92W toward San Mateo. It was lowered, the driver had a sweet watch on too. Anyone here know 'em?
