Would help to explain number of wires, more descriptive information.
Assuming it's the two small wires? Those connect the trunk lights on some models. Does the video not show them?
First video at 1:18. The small wire. I have a 2018 model and oem did not have those. I saw another youtube video where the guy didnt connect those two small wires. Do we know what its for?
That is to light up the brake light on the inners

The 2 pin yellow and red wire is from the aftermarket outer tail lights. Its not original to the car.

They connect to the inner aftermarket tail lights so the brake lights turn on in the inner lights. You have to route them through the hole between the two mounting studs of the outer tail light.
I didnt connect them but the brake lights still work
Yes like everyone else said your inner brake lights are not working.

Went with BayOptiks V2's. Due to it having warranty should I have any issues. Fitment is excellent. Slight trim of the plastic rivets, so I can feed the 2pin wire harness to the trunk center brake lights. Install about 30-45mins. Looks very OEM. So far I dig it!

Yeah those continue to look great, I’m definitely sold on these once they’re available for the F82. What you get for the price is pretty incredible.

I'm just hoping the quality is just as good as the OEM tail light as I'm about to jump the gun on these Bayoptiks V2's. I have never went with anything aftermarket on tail lights or headlights as they are known to leak or just go out completely. So I'm hoping they will last a very very long time since almost most guys that have them consider them great quality.

I think the only thing that worries me is if a LED goes out. You would need to replace the entire taillight due to it being built in.

Same goes for the OEM BMW headlights and tail lights. Most are LED and if a piece goes out you gotta replace the whole thing. Just like our Led headlights.

Yea, but bmw uses quality parts from big companies like Hella, Bosch, ZKW ,AL, etc... where they have to meet a certain spec like 20,000(just an example) hours of run time. These aftermarket tail lights dont even have a company name to them...

You cannot compare these to OEM...

Very True. I do work for BMW and I have seen many parts provided to BMW made in China. So not everything made in China is crap. But they do copy cat very well. With these tail lights I think they should be fine. Especially if you buy them through Bayoptiks which has a good reputation with headlights and of course their warranty.

Did you get yours installed and ready to go? I am also in SoCal!

I just placed my order with "Nicole" from Alibaba. S/he was offering a decent price and EMS shipping. Here is hoping I get them in a timely manner and can join the FOLED club!

Can someone confirm two things for me?

1) Do the v2's work with the brake emergency stop flasher coding? If you're not familiar causes the car to flash the brake lights rapidly when braking hard.

2) Do the v2's have noticeable hotspots from the individual LED's in either the turn signals or brake lights? I've seen some people state they do, but haven't seen it in pictures or videos. Hard to tell unless in person I'm sure.

I paid $350 for the taillights themselves but between EMS shipping and Alibaba fees, it was still over $400 total. I am perfectly fine waiting a month and saving close to $300.
