But anyway, if it isn't listed yet it should be soon. And it's not a crazy expensive solution either.

We've been pushing the topic since 2019 and finally, light at the end of the tunnel guys!!
wow. super looking forward to this.

Any update on this ! Sure would like to run less fuel in the tank, given how heavy the car is.

Just to throw an update out there, we (BimmerWorld) are still working through the solution and have a few test kits out in the wild with some that have known fuel starvation. The results have been mixed, definitely an improvement on some, then didn't seem to on another, so we want to understand what may have been the issue on the one that it didn't seem to help before putting our stamp of approval on it. Obviously this time of year the track time has slowed down for many, but we do have some other testing that is supposed to be done by the end of the month. So hopefully around the end of the month/early March we'll be able to give a more complete answer here.

I say it's better to do 100% testing and delay the launch than release an untested solution

I experienced fuel starved limp this past weekend at Barber. After turn four rise where car is unweighted under strong acceleration towards turns 5/6 on about 1/4 tank or little more of fuel. 2018 F80 CS on R7s. My buddy did also a hour later in same spot on track, in a 2017 F80 base on NT01s and roughly same fuel levels. I went into limp while his car stalled in addition to limp.

Fortunately neither were in a crowd or tight passing situation when it happened. We'll be fueling up more frequently from now on, but would be cool to see a solution for this issue.

Every M3 before E92 had this issue. Common fix is BW dual pump setup (which is almost always on backorder) but not sure if they sell one for F8x.

i get it consistently after the a long high G right hand corner. engine cuts on accel out. but also running E50-60, which is demanding on the fuel pumps.

Would love to do a surge tank as soon as a kit becomes available.

OP Here. Yes that will work. You will need to do a bit of DIY.

Long story short, I have rebuilt my car entirely on the hunt for 1000rwhp to still go drifting. Still using the same full system as when i fixed it the first time.

As an update, it seems like the solution we have come up with is a partial solution, and certainly not the complete solution we hoped for. We tested in various cars that experienced starvation - those that would previously starve at 1/2 tank did see an improvement to about 1/3 tank, but really what we wanted was to get well below that. The target was ultimately to get it below an 1/8 of a tank before starving. Still working to come up with a solution that does not require an external surge tank, as we are sure most would prefer to not have a fuel container in their trunk with a chunk of additional fuel lines running through their car, but the install may become a bit more involved than opening the fuel pump area.

Even the 1/3 tank solution would be huge for us m2c guys. I run E40 on track and I can’t even last a single 25 minute session without getting to half a tank and ending early to prevent starvation. Damn tiny 13gal tank. Solution is to run less e in the mixture but then it sacrifices temps. If you could PM me I’d love to help test it out.

Same here, on my home track I get starvation at 2/3 tank! Getting to 1/2 tank before starvation would help trememdously! i run E40+

I would be in on 1/3 tank fix also. 1/2 tank is ridiculous.

Pwurz Any chance there's an update on this? This is absolutely still a critical issue for a lot of us. Keeping the tank at no less than 1/2 tank gets real old real fast. Seems to be a lot of folks who are willing to pay for the right solution. Any feedback would be amazing.

Many of us are actually running the Stage 3 brushless kit with ethanol to keep up with fueling.

It's basically just an upgraded pump in the oem bucket.
