Then it was a bunch of small stuff:

Black grills, color matched side markets, keyhole blank, red start button/surround and replaced the red rear bumper markers with the black trim.

Black M4 badge

Basic diffuser

FINALLY tinted the windows ~25%

Then at this point I did VRSF Downpipes, mid-pipe and the SSR crank hub (no pics of this process)

The looks didn't match the sound so I did some eBay exhaust tips and am actually really happy with them.

I DID order raw silver vs the black, but I waited for a while for them and honestly don't mind the black so they'll stay for now.

THEN i finally ordered and got some my honest dream wheels:

Michelin MP4S

Basically as tall as my partner lol

Got all 4 in the car somehow

Mounted, balanced and installed:

Going in for a clutch on Friday, probably going to try to do the flex-fuel stuff over this week after work.

Until then added a little something. I'm a little mixed on it, maybe because of the lighting and angles I was looking at it.

Ok, i've been getting a lot of stuff in the mail so updates are more frequent.

Got my mirror caps in yesterday and actually quite like the contrast. Also went ahead and installed the Bend Calibration Ultimate F8X hardware and ran the wiring up into the engine bay for additional work later.

With the BM3 plug 'n play harness attached

Installed pre-cleaning and getting it all back together

And hereeee is what I was really looking for

So then I can do this:

Netted out to be an E40 blend and it's definitely faster. It's super torquey and smooth in general on the flex tune. Love to get it on a dyno with some E60/E85 with the OTS tune to see what it does prior to getting actually tuned up

Another morning update, dropped off at Kennedy Performance for a little work after my TOB kicked the bucket.

Spec twin-disc & flywheel combo

edit: update from the shop with my factory clutch lol.

Definitely broke that thing. Hard a hard time getting into gear this morning and looks like it wasn't just a TOB after all

How it was going:

Currently juuust about done breaking in the clutch and going to start flex fuel tuning with Bend Calibration! Super excited to get going.

In the meantime while I sit on hold at work. Got this in the mail. Another cat approved mod.

It's REALLY thick and looks really nicely made. The instructions are translated reasonably and will probably get it on this weekend. I don't really see how people install it without it being on ramps? I'll figure it out either way.

Had a REALLY good time hanging out at the local dyno this morning.

Dyno: Dyno Dynamics, very much heart-breakers in the dyno realm and this one in particular is a known quantity for running 11% lower than your standard dynojet.

Car: '15 M4 6mt, SSR 4-pin hub, BMC drop-in, VRSF charge pipes, catless downpipes, midpipe, Bend Calibration Ultimate F8X fueling, BM3, Fresh NGK SILZKBR8D8S gapped to .022-.023.

Pull conditions: 5th gear, ~86deg or so inside the shop. Had big shop fan going but it's pretty humid today.

Fuel: E61

Tunes: Bend Calibration vs BM3 OTS Flex fuel.

There's a lot to hypothesize here, but also not too much when you really take it in logically. The car made damn good power for what it is, figuring 11% down from a DJ, the car makes ~550-560whp/tq without even trying hard. With the Bend Calibration tune, it definitely makes more torque and on a DJ would turn 560-570/tq and ~540-545whp.

I also acknowledge that I had a big hand to play in the Bend tune as I specifically set out to make a REALLY safe tune with them. We kept all the factory knock thresholds, and there was some timing noise in the top of my last E60 pulls so we pulled back everything a bit and that's part of the gap you see between the OTS and Bend. The other aspect here is that the 500 pull for the OTS tune was after the longest cool-off period we gave the car the entire time. I also fully-believe that Bend would have made more power in the same conditions, but I was out of dyno time for the morning.

Am I implying that OTS isn't safe? No, I don't have a reason to say that, but I do know that I'll be running the Bend Calibration tune due to how smooth it is and how it feels on the street. I have been in contact with them today and they basically asked if I wanted to make more power, and I have genuinely opted to just.. not.

Mild bolt-ons with stock turbos aren't my end-game here and I also don't want to tax anything unduly. I guess next thing to do is get some 60-130 times between some stuff and see how it rolls.

All-in-all, the dyno/shop operator and I were really impressed with how it did on his dyno. His words were "anything that makes close to 500 or cracks it on my dyno is a fast street car".

Couple spooky foggy pictures for the season, and just a general update. Car is feeling really nice since being tuned up and clutch fixed/broken-in.

Ended up coding a few things with BimmerCode, like auto-fold mirrors, easy entry, turning off seatbelt chimes, etc.

Also got all the GTS steering/diff coding done by bimmer-remote and quite happy with the changes - especially the steering.

Also been having some fun playing with my new Dragy. Times make me wish I was a DCT car lmao. I might look into deleting the CDV in the future to make the speed/boost loss between gears a little better.

I should definitely be deeper 7's, but it's a nice safe tune and me being a 6mt i'm content enough with where it's at.

Also ordered some Pure 2+ lol, so i'm not super concerned about the stock turbo situation. Current plan is to run them on pump for a while and then address all the fueling and push for that 700+.

Little tiny update, but it still counts I guess.

Installed some VRSF noise-makers over the stock air boxes. I LIKE the noises they make but after driving with them for a while it's literally no different feeling imo. Initially I felt like maybe part-throttle was more responsive around town, but it's probably just the auditory additions to the driving experience.

Anyway, impatiently awaiting dropping off the car tomorrow night for a Monday/Tues Pure install. Install was supposed to be last week but the shop got sidelined pretty hard with some supply chain problems on getting some other jobs out of their bays. Totally understandable.

Looking forward to getting the car back mid next week and see how it all feels put together. Here are some floor mats to look at instead of the turbo updates I was supposed to have by today lol.

Just a single picture update, but the Pures are in and wow are they fun. I'm going to have to take some videos and really try to share more of what the experience is like, but... totally changes the car.

Power delivery is MUCH different, they're definitely laggier but it doesn't feel bad per se, just less of the punch-you-in-the-gut torque spike that we're all used to with the factory turbos.

These just keep pulling and pulling and pulling. Plus you get some really fun part-throttle and low speed spooling noises. I mean, side benefit I guess.

Just a little teaser of sound - wanted to see what it sounded like while cruising around.

Still rocking the OTS map and awaiting my first base map from F80Paul - hopefully getting tuning all sorted out over this week or two.
