another TPMS malfunction

Hello everyone. I got new wheels and tires for the M4 and new tpms from an ebay seller recommended on here, he has a 100 seller rating. Brand New Set of Four (4) OEM GENUINE BMW TPMS 2015-2017 M3 M4 F30/F32 F80/F82 pn.36106856209. I put everything on the car and went for a short drive. While driving i realized i had forgotten to do the reset so I pulled over and did reset and got the tpms malfunction. I have tried several times to reset and nothing works. I even disconnected the battery to see if it would reset it. The reset doesn't even start the percentage stage. so put old set on and they work.
thanks all.

Go to a shop and see if they've been programmed and calibrated. Brand new they need an ID# assigned from 1-12 so the car knows which wheel is which. Maybe yours are all on #1…

I thought of doing that but I wanted to make sure those tires are the problem. That's why I put the old ones back on that I know were working minutes before i swapped them. but I still get the malfunction with the old set.

I did finally get the old set to work. No go on new set

I bought a set for my winter setup on eBay and I regret it. They only lasted two seasons. It's not just the cost of the tpms that is lost but also having to remount and road force balance them. It cost me another 160 for tpms from tire rack and 209 for installation. Lesson well learned. Get good tpms sensors that will last.

Yea, I thought I was pretty safe because some on here have had good luck with them. I did get the original set of wheels to work again but no go on new set.
