I do think there is "hype" and replaying of magazine text that accompanies a lot of the "f80 steering sux" commentary Agreed that F80 comfort is the best mode |

Yeah, I agree. I think they did a pretty good job with the electric steering on the M. However, I'd take the hydraulic system back in a second if I had the choice.

Thanks for all the opinions. Sounds like the f80 is going to fit me just fine. I will say the steering on the E90 was the thing that sold me on the car when I was deciding between bmw & Audi. Just felt (and still feels) so connected. So that's a bit disappointing, but I'm sure I can look past it for the rest of the great features.... And speed

I have a 2008 E90 335 (modified to Dinan 3) I've had since new and a F83 M4 which I've also had since new (obviously).
- Prefer the steering feel in the E90. Can't beat that hydraulic steering, dayum! - My E90 (particularly given mods) is surprisingly quick. It's xDrive so in the winter it is much quicker from a dig than the M4 However - the M beats it in every single other way - Zero under steer in the M4, like zero - Pulls like a damn dragon. Much much faster if Summer or tires are warm - Much more modern and higher quality cabin - Stiffer ride, louder too but not uncomfortable - Looks are way more aggressive - Bigger, wider All up, I love the F8X but I still enjoy driving my E90 also.
