+1 for Sound Wheel Works. I had the same wheel (666m) repaired for two different curb rash incidents. Both times came out flawless. Price is reasonable for Eastside and Corey is great!

curious, how much was the damage and cost?

also, question/thoughts for all.....I like black rims on white f80....any idea what ack would be good on competition 666 rims? "regular" or satin?

1 wheel has damage that needs to be repaired as well.

Is that price to repair 1 wheel and refinish 4?

The price depends on the extent of wheel damage and any other changes you might want.

The basic charge is around $150 per wheel (unmounted) as Zomboss points out. That's $600 for all four wheels for fixing curb rash, scratches, etc. The more damaged a wheel is, the more the labor involved to repair and refinish. Gouges may require welding in addition to machining. A bent wheel is extra to straighten to trueness. And of course, painting is extra.

If I have a wheel that is damaged beyond machining out the curb rash, I weigh the costs of the additional repair charges against just buying a new wheel.

so, I didn't get into the nitty gritty of the details for the repair. I asked for a quote to repair curb damage on 1 wheel and nick's/dings on 2 other wheels from normal wear/tear.

All four wheels are drive able and balanced...not bent.

so, the above is the quote I got. sure, if your wheel is completely damaged, sure you should balance a new purchase vs. repair.

I'm on the fence, being in PDX ....it'd cost about $1300 after the expense of traveling there.

I'm currently in market for black rims to replace mine.
