I generally like how Lamborghinis look but this one isn't my cup of tea. I do like that throwback though

It's not any nicer than the OG Aventador, but I am in the minority that like the way it looks. Refreshing to see a Lambo without hexagons and Ys.

I've made it a goal with my friend who's got family in CA that in the next five years, I am making a California roadtrip top to bottom & left to right, with a stop over in Carmel for the Car Week. Provided that the fires don't burn the whole state down.

You know what's weird?

Now that the market is pushing EVs so hard, so many car companies are making throwback car designs.

Retro design is definitely in right now.
Wagoneer, Bronco, new Nissan Z

Maybe BMW will do one last great ICE M car with NA motor and manual. Can you imagine the demand and waiting lists for something like that?! They have so much heritage that they can sell to BMW enthusiasts instead they are only focusing on this EV crap.

We'll have to keep on dreaming. Straight from the mouth of our favorite member at BMW, Dukec on the CSL Hommage Concept Reception:

Sadly, this doesn’t mean van Hooydonk and his team are interested in, for argument’s sake, recreating the E21 with the internals of the i4. “I feel that retro design works well if you want to reposition a brand that has sort of lost its way,” he said. “You want to trace back where you came from and pick up on the trail where you were successful and go on from there.”

“We feel we should continue the fire, as opposed to worshipping the ashes, if you know what I mean,” he concluded."
Oh the irony of that second quote...

Mercedes follows Audi and BMW in pulling out of Formula E racing

Having won the 2021 championship, Mercedes EQ is putting its money elsewhere after 2022

Yeah I was reading it and going like, well you did lose your way and the brand is indeed on fire (in a bad way), so why not take the ash and go back to once you where greater?

I honestly don't think it looks good in any color, just less bad

I mean if people like it, whatever but thankfully nobody seems to drive them around here now that the one guy traded it in after a few thousands km

Not really. I just don't like the looks of the car.

There are definite positives of the G8x cars but I personally cannot overlook the looks. Even with a G22 I was like… nope. G8x didn't change my mind.

Regardless, I ain't my SA friends who have to work on them so. They have to endure it, I don't.

Well I am talking about the design but I also don't like the things they move away from as a overall packaging.

No doubt the new cars are capable but as a total package there's nothing there that fills me with joy.

I do like what they did with the diff as it's somehow able to put the power down… but that's nothing a set of Apex 18x11 rear wheels couldn't solve on the F8x 😉
