Believe it or not, the 2018 M3 got the iDrive 6 and touch screen (new for 2018), but the M4 did not - I think the M4 did not get until 2019.

E90 to f80 manual vs dct is almost like comparing an 08 911 to an 09 911. No one wants an 08 Porsche 911 auto because they sucked. But once pdk was introduced in 09 the cars with that dual clutch are very desirable simply because it's a great transmission. Similar with the f80 platform we have an excellent and reliable dual clutch for once and it's in its final year of production. Because of that I think the dct f8Xs will do well in the future.
I've owned multiple smgs (m3,m6) and a manual m4. I'm now on my second dct m4. For me it's dct all day. |

SMG had reliability issues but also street drivability issues. I had an M5 smg for a bit, was terrible compared to my DCT.
As for Offlease, I have purchased 4 cars there over the years, all drove fine, all were serviced under warranty by my local BMW dealer, and I saved a lot of $$. I never bought one if the airbags deployed. Two had accidents, they let you drive them alone, I immediately went to my body shop guy nearby and had him check them before purchasing. Both were professionally fixed. One car was totalled 1.5 years later (08 E93). I had paid $43k, insurance company gave me $46k payout.
