I opted to buy the easycare totalcare Warranty for my 2015. I now am covered til 104000 miles. I’m at 47k and driving the car like I stole it! The peace of mind is worth it, I say.
I bought the car used last sept with 36k miles and since then the water to air Ic leaked and was replaced, the diff was resealed or something and there was another small issue that was resolved via warranty. Nothing too big but made me want a warranty. Other than that it’s been awesome. |

Guys, it seems like the only real worry that would concer me is the crank hub.
Retiming, or a 1% of getting a catastrophic engine failure. The DCT tranny is pretty bulletproof, look at the old tech with the e92. and anything else.. if was to fail , sourcing a conponent and getting an indy shop to fix it.. 1000$ -3000$ ? There's tons of 997 Turbo porsche out there running around with 60-100k... and Porsche engineering , or design for that matter .. is far more complex. Like I said, my only concern would be a crank hub. |

OP. I just turned In my 2016 M4 with 38,000 miles on it and the car had Zero issues. The F80/82/83s are bomb proof except for the crank hub. I might roll the dice on this one. Good luck. |

I bought an extended warranty with my M3. Haven't ever been burned in the past (although I usually wrench on my own and drive cars from pre-2000's) and am paying an extra $30 a month. The peace of mind for part cost at what's considered astronomically higher than what Im used to, as well as more technical labor is a no brainer.
The dealer can easily hit you with a $3k+ visit for any whatever (insert repair) + computer/module reprogram. My previous vehicle was a 2014 328 and the fuel pump went on me. Big inconvenience but an assumingely cheap fix, right? 3 day turn around, got rides to and from the dealer.. loaner.. whatever. $1500+ tab because the computer went with the pump, labor, some other BS. All warrantied but not something I would've wanted to pay... when I'm used to buying a fuel pump from parts store or online for $300 and doing a 3 hours of work. Moral of the story: If you can pay to play, be my guest. I'm not saying that things are going to break, but it WILL be expensive. I, for one, didn't care to do the math. Take my car in, fix it and don't charge me a dime. Thank you! |

I believe its 5yrs and 75k miles from the time of purchase.
Only thing is their warranties are not transferable, but after 2.5 yrs if you cancel they give you half the $ back.

Got mine when picked up the car for $6200 Platinum package from BMW and don't have to worry about repair for a long period.
