Fault Code 332389 - idling quality, misfires /malfunction - what does this mean?
I'm looking at a pre-owned CPO 2017 M3 and in the BMW repair history, there is a record for fault code 332389, "idling quality under all operating conditions misfires / malfunction." This appeared at about 5,000 miles, but appears to have been resolved (CPO, too).
Anyone have any idea what this means? Any reasons for concern over this fault code? I assume it means a cylinder misfire, which I understand happens quite often on the f80 M3. |

Don't know where you got the "happens quite often on the F80 M3" from, but it does occasionally happen and usually is related to spark plug or coil or injector issue.

Misfire is rare on stock cars. May have been a bad plug or coil, or even a crap tank of gas if the car was out west in ACN territory. Also maybe someone's wife filled with cheap regular gas instead of premium.
That far back and under CPO there's little to worry about, especially if the car runs fine now and under load.
