And if ASD is one of the first ECUs to be flashed, that may explain DavidGP's situation. Btw F80M3 confirmed what I read all along in ISTA/P general programming guidelines, that all faults needs to be cleared before programming car with ISTA/P.

Thank you for this, it would explain what is going on. I will contact the dealer and hopefully they can redo the update.

Just got back from dealer who redid the software update. ASD was plugged in this time. I dont feel confident it was done correctly because my previous coding was not reverted back to stock and all my radio and seat settings were the same and I have the gong.
I will check tonight through Esys to see if updates were actually made. |

Did you lose all your settings(seat position, radio stations, coding)?

Maybe they didn't completely reset your car.
When you get updated you should lose everything. You shouldn't be keeping your old settings, I'm not sure what your dealership is doing. Do you have the work order on what they did?

No my car was never updated. Now after they were able to program all modules I lost all of my coding.

sorry to say that I dont even think they updated your KOMBI! i was wrong in our session, your KOMBI is still your original. I was comparing to my 55.3 IST file, but I forgot that I flashed my old KOMBI with the 56.x version that had the updated HUD colors.
Further we all know that BMW introduced changes to DSC in post 58.x, and your DSC's version is as my Istep shipment of 55.3 swfl_00002379_000_007_001. Jeez, what did that dealer do ? or rather didnt do... Next time, insist they give you the printout of the programming session, it is many pages with all the details of the old and new versions of CAFD, swfl, btld, ... But to be honest with you, against all the reviews, and in hindsight, I think the DME/DSC pre 57 versions are more fun and maybe its best you stay there ! |

It isn't suppose to be possible because there is some hardware change as well. Anything is possible but we will have to see and wait basically because no one has done this yet so.
