Likewise, the prices quoted here don't include the registration fee (sales tax), so it's not a straight comparison. But the main reason US prices are lower for everything is because we have a big competitive market with tons of imports

I know there are plenty of M3 drivers who don't want Nav so I wonder about this as well.

I love all the butt hurt from our European friends regarding US prices. America > you

BTW I'm not being malicious here but it always makes me chuckle.

Well my wife is German and I live in Germany temporarily so I guess you can put me in the "best of both worlds" category.

Might pick up LCI version then. Will be able to get one at invoice then I suspect.

I wonder if the transmissions or turbo's would be easily ported over to the old N54 platform once those cars need replacement parts in the coming years. If your already making a component change... might as well do an upgrade when changing stuff at the same time?

Guys don't complain. Do you have to pay, in your country; between 100-200k for your college education???? Or $1500 for one hour emergency visit???? Or $2000 for dental root canal? Or for example, $400/month car insurance on new M3 like we in NYC??

Funny a friend of mine asked me the other day what she can buy for under $70k for a great sedan and I told her that is an easy answer, look at the new M3!

(she's had the previous gen E-class and an s2000 / TSX as her fun cars)

My point is I truly think for the under $70k bracket the new M3 is a serious contender. The only other cars that are real lookers in the SEDAN category fellas is the 6-series GT and Panamera. Of course they are both way more expensive so not a really fair comparison but for me, you have to compare apples to apples. An M3 and a 991 is just not the same car nor is the new Vette. I buy my cars based on a category and just like my buddy, we share the idea of having one of each category in our stables

Example:

SUV
Hybrid
Convertible / 2-door sports car
Sport Sedan
Work horse
Exotic / fun play car (aka impractical)

Some of the categories are obvious but when you look at the M3, it's clearly a sedan whereas the Porsche would fall into the convertible / 2-door sports car.

Exotic = GT3, F-car, Lambo, etc

Hey Jason I noticed on the Canadian order guide it also included the colors Azurite, Moonstone, Tanzanite, and Pyrite but it also said SOP 07/14. I can only assume that means they will be available but not until July 2014? Do you know if they will be offered similarly to how they are on the M5, as Individual colors but still an option?

For all those people looking for a nice blue besides Yas, Tanzanite might do the trick.

Trans, maybe, though I believe the n54 manual trans was quite solid so not sure how much it'd be worth it.

Turbos, doubtful, and would require tuning as well of course to the specific turbo.

Agreed current base M5 is approximately $10,000 - 10% more in Canada than US.

That implies low to mid $70k for M3/M4 Canada. A few grand more than E9X.

Not bad actually.

I notice Budd's is advertising European Delivery orders for M3/M4.

Here is the Canadian pricing:

http://www.tcbmw.com/wp-content/uplo...-M4-Retail.pdf

Starting at $74,000. I have to laugh at regular - european delivery and diplomatic pricing all being the same!
