Just moved into a new house that has solar and a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the right place. Using the standard 'mobile charger' that came with the car, that should charge at 30mi/hour. If you hardwire a charging station you can apparently turn the wick up to 60A (about 44mi/hr), but I don't drive all that much and wiring in a car-specific charger seems unnecessary for now.

I haven't yet investigated the 'track mode' ... but it does appear to have settings for adjusting TC levels, regenerative braking and front/rear power bias.

I'm sure it would be totally possible (and fun!) to throw these around at an autocross... and the massive torque/accel from slow speed corner exits is perfect for that setting. I just don't see much evidence of steering feedback so far.

Anyhow... until I get my 911 GTS allocation, this will have to do ;-)

(I just hope that it doesn't make the Porker feel slow)

Because they won't officially sell them here, I bet. Just look at that aero kit, you can't have that or poor Europeans will cut their legs with those dive planes and too many pigeons will get their wings sliced off at high speeds!!!

Polestars are selling well, because Volvo got a strong presence already. Seems like great vehicles but I suggest you mount a proper charging station in the garage, for safety reasons.

Here in the US Polestar has been a complete fail. Ever since the reviews I have yet to hear or see anyone talk about them. Not to mention I saw one on the road a year ago (with only one working fog light) and none since. Volvo has done a terrible job marketing this vehicle, can't even look at one at a Volvo dealership, they should have branded it a Volvo vehicle and sold/advertised them through their dealer network (which they just spent millions of dollars renovating across the country).

Unfortunate.

They're doing a lot of promotions and especially promoting the "your location" test drive which is one of three options, the others being you go to the dealer and test at events.

Your location
We're coming to you.
We come to you and you get to test drive a Polestar.
We can pick you up at home, at work or anywhere else that suits you.

An employee from Polestar drives to the place you have chosen, where you can take over the car and go for a drive. Polestar's employees answer all your questions about the car.

Test runs on "Your place" depend on coverage and availability.

The test drive is free.

I'm sure its a good car, but from a sales and marketing point of view (in the US) its a fail, less than 300 US sales in the first half of 2021. If Volvo sold it as a Volvo and at their dealerships I'm 100% sure they'd have greater success. Ask anyone on the street what a Polestar is and they'll think you're talking about a stripper.

You live in Norway though correct? Isn't that like the EV capital of the world?

I do like the test drive model that they are doing - although someone here on the forums had an appointment only for the representative to never show up - but the lack of marketing in the US has screwed them over. Volvo has put no effort into trying to sell these cars here despite preaching about how they believe in EV's for the future and are against dealerships (despite just recently investing and renovating dealers across the country in attempts to push the brand up-market).

I check in over there every so often. Lots of talk about $10k paint protection packages and color choices, not so much about driving the cars
