Did some searching and can't find what I'm looking for. What is the difference? Is it a deeper exhaust note with CF tips? I ordered my car with the Competition Package, so does it come with the M Performance exhaust? It says M Sport so I am just trying to understand the difference if there is one.
Thanks.

The ZCP comes with the Sports Exhaust, which is not the same thing as the M performance exhaust.
Think of the ZCP exhaust as a nice improvement over stock, but not nearly as aggressive as the MPE. Here's a decent comparison video:

I found this video but I was unclear on what came in the Competition Package exhaust wise. I found more online and I understand now. Kind of a wasted post and I'm sorry. Thanks for the info. Not sure I want to spend another $5k even though it sounds amazing! My wife would lynch me.

I have the Dinan one with their Xpipe, sounds great, but the MPE is one of the best sounding ones out there. I know it's steep, but for the delta in price, it is worth it from what I've heard on my friends' rides.

Now when I upgraded to my Next 2018 M4, this time I ordered it with the MPE from the get go and I just considered it as, this is the price of the car, don't think twice...was easier to digest that way. Let me tell you, when driving with the top down, everytime you let go off the gas and hear those burbles, but now they sound like roaring thunder due to the MPE and very loud and deep, I just can't get enough of it. no video online will convince you to get it until you hear it in person. Turn up the volume on your computer/phone, here is a clip I made the other day in the parking lot, listen towards the end: |

Not to rub it in or anything, but here in Canada, the MPE with CF tips is offered as a $3800USD ($4900CAD) option when you order the car . Well worth it IMO.

no, you don't get the burbles and crackles on a non ZCP M4. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

You are correct. The overrun cracks and burbles are part of the ZCP tune. You may get a random pop here and there with the non-zcp, but certainly nothing consistent like the ZCP.

I'm debating whether to add MPE at the port to my CP M3, but I need to find a reference audio clip that is accurately depicting the differences. Most sound nothing at all like the exhaust sounds in real life. |

ZCP vs MPE exhaust
Thinking of trading my 2016 non-ZCP F80 for a ZCP. I love the sound of the MPE, however. How will the ZCP sound vs the non-ZCP with an MPE? I can't option the MPE on BMW's build website with ZCP.

No video will truly give you the real sound of any exhaust vs listening to them in real life. But just to give you an idea, here's my ZCP with MPE:
And here's another comparison: And here's someone who asked your same question: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1413291

Not at all. You only hear them when you lift your foot off the gas pedal at low speeds. The MPE does the magic. After owning it and hearing how it really is, Is never wanna drive the car without it. You can even hear it inside the cabin even with the Windows rolled up and it makes the shifts in WOT sound very sporty and loud

Is it just my vision, or is the MPE a lower profile muffler that doesn't show as much as the stock muffler? I absolutely hate the way the stock muffler sits 5 inches beneath the bumper. It's plain ugly and a bad design.
