1/2 mile drag strip thoughts

Thinking of running my '16 M4 w Dinan stage 2 on the 1/2 mile drags event held on Coalinga (California) Airport property.

Anyone ever done a 1/2 mile event? What were your results? Can one reach the car's top speed in 1/2 mile?

What should I make sure to do to prep the car?

Garage List
I did one a few years ago, they had us do rolling starts at about 40-50mph. Reached 145ish mph at end. Not much prep work needed, just make sure you have decent tires and have fun.

Very informative videos - thanks for the link. BUT I was hoping for considerably higher numbers than mid to high 140's!!

Aerodynamics is a bitch and 1/2 mile isn't that long. COTA's back straight is 0.6 miles and a good driver in a stock F8x can go from 40 -> 150s in that distance.
