Bought used M4, doesn't seem to have wireless charging
I bought a used 2015 M4 a few weeks ago. I asked if it had wireless charging and was told yes. I looked at the window sticker and it does indeed have the "Enhanced Bluetooth and Smartphone" option added. It shows up when I run a VIN check as well.
Regardless, something seems to be missing here. There is no wireless charging. I think I'm missing the main component that is required. Here's what the center console looked like when I bought it: View post on imgur.com Then this little doo-dad was in the glove box: View post on imgur.com I installed that in the center console and it looks like this: View post on imgur.com And then these random wires were just kind of hanging out in the center console as well: View post on imgur.com Obviously, I can't do wireless charging with this setup. I'm missing some key component, right? I think I just have a "phone cradle" and not a wireless charger. I think that my car is ready for wireless charging but it just doesn't have the right piece installed. Maybe the previous owner took the wireless charging piece out and sold it? Any advice would be appreciated. I'm completely new to BMW so I realize I look pretty stupid trying to figure this out. |

I do not believe wireless charging was even an option in MY 2015. You were informed wrong. Dealer? You have a phone cradle which needs an adapter and is virtually worthless. |

I'm still curious though - what is this "base plate in center console for snap-in adapter integration" that comes as part of the Enhanced Bluetooth package? It's a snap in adapter..for what? Just to hold the phone in place? I'm also not sure what the electrical connection in the center console is for (not the USB or Aux, but the one behind the phone cradle) if it has nothing to do with wireless charging. I appreciate your help. |

I have wireless charging in my M3. The cradle is a bit on the small side and won't fit "phablets" like the iPhone 6+ or 7+. But I have heard the iPhone X will fit. I bought a wireless charging case for my iPhone 6s and it works well. The OEM wireless charger is a "slow" charger as well compared to other "fast" wireless chargers available on the market.

There is an OEM wireless charger available as an accessory. Apparently it is installed by removing the baseplate and plugging it into the same baseplate connectors. Just search for it or ask your dealer. |

Also can confirm that MY 2015 enhanced BT does not include wireless charging / no wireless charging for MY 2015. Perhaps confusion may be arising because, as I understand it, you need to order wireless charging in MY 2018 to get enhanced BT.
