The settings in the key are based on which key you were using when you changed settings. You could make them both the same or totally different. My wife's key has very different settings from my key.

It's not cold here yet! You'll appreciate it even more in January.

I finally found the odometer reset button today, hadn't really looked for it, but I've had the car a month so felt sort of silly not to have discovered it before this.

We had a sick day on Monday, and I took my kids out for a spin and taught them how to operate a shifter. We were talking and I was explaining them that usually women notice smaller things than men, where as men have a big picture in their heads from the start.

"mom, you do realize that though women think differently it is not less of a value?"

Of course I told the pup that I agree, though if an M car was designed by me, it would look very different. I did however ask for an example.

"cars are useless in the rain, if you think about it. You can make them stop faster, you can make them safe in a crash, but it was a female who thought to improve visibility."

I just asked, since I was kind of struck dumb after that then that who made us see in the rain. I got an eye roll and apparently Mary Anderson invented the windshield wipers.

I learned today about my car that I am a dumb fuck and my passengers are really, really weird.

my mirrors unfolded automatically at... maybe 20mph?

I thought it was 10 before and it didn't so thought i had to get it coded.

But forgot the other day pulled out of garage spiritedly and well, the mirrors unfolded.

Beyond the usual phone number, destination and radio presets, you can program the following into the shortcut button;

1. Sports display
2. TPMS
3. Messages

At a touch of a button I can change the screen to Sports Display or TPMS.

Messages is very useful as I use the BMW Remote app to search Nav destination.

Once sent to car, I just press the Messages shortcut, retrieve the Nav search result and simply set destination.

I wish they had air conditioned seats and not just heated.
I prefer just AC seats, comes in so handy on those 100 degree days.
Once you have em' you never want to go back.

Since day 1 discovered the beautiful exhaust sound with flaps open. Rarely listen to the radio because of this

I've read about sending directions to your nav. How is this done?

Your car must be equipped with BMW Connected Drive and setup completed by the dealer

1. Download "BMW Remote" app (Android or iOS)
2. Open app and go to "Maps"
3. Search for destination by simply putting business name or address (Google powered)
4. Once destination found, press "Send to car"
5. Your car will receive a SMS
6. Open messages and click on the SMS
7. Simply click on the destination link in the SMS and your car NAV will do the rest.

Why not just go to google maps, find the destination, and click "send to device" then pick your car?

aside from the above procedure.

from any computer and desktop browser, in google maps there's an option for send to car as well. once you're car is set up and email address assigned for connected drive/bmwassist you can send from google maps as well (again, desktop browser, not mobile phone browser)

Yes we can do it this way too ... but I find the BMW Remote app on the mobile phone a lot more useful in real life situations.

The google map method requires a desktop and you have to log in to google first ...
